One thing I strangely forgot to mention was the author of Fury of Dracula - Stephen Hand. He originally wanted to create 2 Dracula games - one based on the book, and one based on the historical figure of Vlad the Impaler. Modifications to the 2nd edition were done by Kevin Wilson, and to the 3rd edition by Frank Brooks.

Yes, please revisit more of these classics. We are saturated with the latest and not always greatest from so many other channels. Nice to see the great old one’s getting a dust off and a nostalgic viewing. Thanks for your time on this.

love the early versions, I recently put together an early edition of DungeonQuest - with the lead/pewter minis for the heroes .... such a blast, and hilarious to see how each hero inevitably dies hahaha . Fury of Dracula is an absolute classic... thank you and what a great series this will be

One of my top 10 games, for sure. I have 3rd edition, but I have printed the rules for the 4th edition. 4th Ed cleans up some rare edge cases, but otherwise is the same game (and the miniatures are painted).

I've never seen the first edition of Fury of Dracula, that's cool. Very interesting!! I have a hidden movement game called Specter Ops, it's pretty fun - playing against a friend who's an actual police officer and directing the others makes being the bad guy very tense!!!

I have the 2nd ed of the game and my friends and I played that game non-stop for almost a year after I picked it up. The hidden movement and deduction had us hooked. I knew it was an old GW game, but never having a copy of the first edition, I didn't realize how the gameplay changed so much as the Dracula player. I definitely found that it was better to play the long game as Dracula in the 2nd ed as an overall strategy. Thanks Peter.

I’ve only ever played 2nd edition and still have copy (along with your excellent reference sheets). The game is great but we always struggle a bit with the combat. Sadly I missed out on the two newer versions when they were actually available. I’d love to see more of these kind of videos.

Hey! Great video as always! Just wanted to point out a couple of things; (1) the digital version is also available on iOS so you can play it on iPhone or iPad. It’s a really good adaptation and I recommend it! (2) While hidden movement games were very rare back in 1987, I was playing Scotland Yard some years before.

It's on iOS? Fantastic! I'll check that out, thankyou for telling me. And you're right of course - I hadn't heard of Scotland Yard (1983) in Australia back in the day, so I'd forgotten about it, though I now assume it inspired FoD.

I owned and played 3rd edition 8 years ago, and whilst I briefly enjoyed it in the end, I sold it. Shelf space was an issue, something I doubt you have to worry about 😆, and it just wasn't getting played. Also, I discovered Scotland Yard, and that proved more successful than Fury just because it could be taught and played in about a quarter of the time. I'm loving the 'revisit' though and seeing the components reminded me how beautiful it looks. I've just had a sneaky look on eBay, you swine! Keep them coming! 👍

It's just a terrible game (subjective, I know). Why have a cooperative game that has a player being unable to relay a very important piece of information? Especially one that doesn't have a traitor mechanic. It did look good though from what I remember, if a bit confused. It was almost as if the game was designed for children but the artist didn't get the memo and so made some of the monsters truly terrifying. Anyway. Enough said 😆
