The Spearhead book repeats a lot as it will be sold as its own thing that can be purchased without the core book to play Spearhead. Also, while most of the rules are the same, there are quite a few changes in the rules for Spearhead so it makes it easier to have everything in one place rather than rules in two places with one being a list of exceptions and changes. If you're playing Spearhead then you don't need the core rule book at all.

Actually, the rules in the Spearhead book appear to be a total repeat of the core rules in the main book; it just doesn't include the Magic, Command, and Battle Tactics modules. I can see why they kept it separate but it seems a bit silly. I'd rather just have all the background fluff in a separate book.

Yes, which is great. Still, they should have printed cards in the box for the models that are in the box, I reckon.

Looking forward to a Spearhead battle report if you get around to doing one. Interested to see how easy-to-learn the rules are. Would be nice if it was different spearhead armies than those in the box but perhaps that's too much to ask.

I will be doing one! We'll start with the Skaventide ones, and see if I can scrape together the models for some different factions in a future one. (Looks at model collection) Hmm, it appears I can field the Kruleboyz, Night Haunts, Cities of Sigmar and Nurgle Maggotkin ...

Could you tell menthe dimensions of the two books and weight ?

Boy I love how you guys get it for free and far earlier than the rest of us. I’m gonna start a darn Warhammer channel so I can get stuff too! I still have to wait until 13 July to get my Skaventide box and I hate waiting.

regarding the spearheads; what news is there for orruk klans? are there ironjaws spearhead or only krule boyz ??

Kruleboyz and Ironjawz will be separate factions now (with Bonesplitterz leaving AoS next year to be part of The Old World setting only) but both factions will share an upcoming battletome. Kruleboyz will have a Spearhead at launch (the old Orruk Warclans Vanguard box which is all Kruleboyz models). Ironjawz will eventually have their own Spearhead but not at launch.

@@waferjuice I was definitely bummed too as Ironjawz Spearhead was going to be my first purchase after the Skaventide box. They've said a box will eventually come (an all new one since they don't have a vanguard box unlike the other factions and vanguard boxes are just being rebranded as Spearhead) but may not be for a while. Hopefully they will release rules for an Ironjawz Spearhead (even if there's not a box for it) that uses already released units sooner.

@@EsotericOrderGamers For the Kruleboyz Spearhead, yes. They don't have an Ironjawz Spearhead yet. They'll be two separate factions in 4th.

So if the good ones are storm CAST does that mean the bad ones will be storm 3DPRINTED

Only Games Workshop would bring out a starter box and not include dice (which would cost them pennies) and unit cards. I suggest that the tissue in the box is to mop up your tears, when you realise how much you have spent and still don't have everything needed to play. One Page Rules all the way for me.
