Dominion and Indomitus were also launch boxes without dice and were both quickly followed by multiple starter sets just like Leviathan. I'm excited for this box, More Stormcast and starting Skaven, but my position at my job got eliminated, so I'm going to have to hope I find a new job before I can try to get it.

Thanks for the video, dude. Dominion was 60 models strong, though - 21 Stormcast and 39 Kruleboys, so 14 less than here, but I agree it's worth it

I hope the new models that come after this boxset for both the Stormcast and Skaven arn't just more boring hero's, and are monsters, dragons, battline units, and elite units like the newer giant-er rat ogre thing (can't remember the name), im already disappointed we got yet another hero revealed (the one with wings), like Gw just give us some dracontith battline units like Tempesters but have wings and no riders and come as a unit of 3!!!!! THAT WOULD BE AWESOME, MORE DRACONITH UNITS!!!

No joke, everytime I see an Ebay listing for Soul War box dice I buy them too Ash. It really is weird the box doesn't come with them.

Hey ash if you get a sec can you tell me the base size for the Lord Vigilant? Converted up the stormcast spearhead from my mountain of old AoS, but wasn't sure how to base the big boi. Definitely a cool box, with something for everybody, I think I'm just gonna pick up the spearhead essentials on their own tho.

I found a great condition copy of Black Spots by Bad Brains too.

Huh. 260 pages for the rulebook is a bit slim. The 3rd ed hardback was 360 pages. I'm guessing they cut down the background a lot, which I'm not a fan of.

The cutting down on booklets and rules and instead keeping them online is probably a thing intended for the EU market. Archon Games recently did an AMA where they mentioned that just not including a lot of printed material in their boxes allowed them to avoid a lot of red tape

So I'm confused, is this the spearhead box? Or something else that can be used with the spearhead box?

Spearhead comes in this box along with additional models, the core book and the GHB quick reference cards. It’s a launch bundle of new stuff.

I'll definitely pass on this box, no interest in either army. At least in Australia I'd anticipate the box being around for awhile since dominion was clearly a failure. I assume this will do better since the skaken are more popular but interested to see if people actually get excited for clan rats etc.

Launch boxes are different from Starter Sets, starter sets were the ‘old’ way of doing things at launch and I think a lot of folks confused the two for a long time so I’m taking the opportunity to underline the difference

not sure what games workshop long term strat is, i have young ones in my family that see this and go crazy over it but they will not be able to afford it like i could growing up unless i really finance it for them which is even expensive for me now. Kids love toys but these toys are not affordable anymore to create the next gen that collect and play for the next 30 years.

I’m a full fledged adult and I’m balking at the price point. I bought 2nd edition 40k back in the day with paper route monies. This would be difficult for a kid to save up for themselves

So I have armies for both Skaven and Stormcast. Nothing in the launch box interests me except the Rat Ogres and the rulebook. The Stormcast especially feel like they are made explicitly for people who didn't like Stormcast. Same problem Dominion had, messing with both Orruks and Stormcast. Kind of worried this launch box will flop like Dominion did, hurting all of AoS.

I have mainly been a Stormcast player, and really loved the army. GW has kind of ruined them at this point. "Thunderstrike Armor" was a dumb plot point and just messed with too much by adding a third layer of redundancy to the army. Then the culling of scrolls recently. Now the Ruination Chamber feels like a tonal miss. They're the wrecked and ruined Stormcast, but have the fanciest, newest armor. The culling didn't hit me too hard, as I preferred the Warrior and Vanguard chambers to Sacrosanct, but it is still discouraging and makes me hesitate to buy any SCE going forward, because they have a timer ticking on them.

Leviathan book was obsolete in how long... 3 months?

If you REALLY want dice, get Baron of Dice dice, they're really amazing and feel and roll great plus theyre super stylish and probably have your chosen faction

I said I was excited about Spearhead and why. Same thing is said in this video. 2) Ain’t nobody getting complimentary flights from GW. Hahaha I did fly with them a lot during the 15ish years I worked there. 3) My integrity is just fine. Maybe check yours when you start tossing shade at someone you don’t know about something you weren’t there for?
