Looking at games workshop posts, the kruleboyz spearhead is just their current vanguard box. Funnily, you get almost both spearheads for stormcasts and kruleboyz in the dominion box, just need the kruleboyz ballista and stormcast chariot

About your comment on the Lumineth: the character in the box is the cheapest they can field. They end up being not as hordy as the box makes them look (though you could go for a horde style build if you wanted to)

Thanks to Warcry purchases I think I'm only 10 Chainrasps off a Nighthaunt spearhead, so I guess I'd go for that if I wanted to try it out. Though maybe the dinoboys would be my choice if I didn't have existing models to build from. With the Lumineth, it seems more line infantry-focused than a lot of the other spearheads, so perhaps you'll be able to build a full army of them by adding big things rather than more infantry to produce an overall more elite army?

In case you're wondering the Skaventide armies are 1,200 for Stormcast and 1,270 for the Skaven

@@Fuzmonster59 Yes. But for Spearhead you don't reinforce, instead they are split into 2 separate units.

As a 40k player - It does look like a better game than 40k. And actually, 40k is just... Not a good game

@@mattyno964 everyone pretty much agrees that 40k isn't a very good game. But it's got the largest community and for many people that's the most important thing

420 points for Sons is a good indication of how you’re supposed to play the army 🚬 💨

I like the Lumineth's playstyle, Teclis T posing and tons of spells. And because I'm a Warcraft fan I painted mine like the Blood Elves , even 3d printing Spellbreaker shields to make them more thematic .

Thanks to my insane purchases I have a Kruelboyz, Blades of Khorne, Maggotkin of Nurgle, and Nighthaunt. But I so want a Seraphon spearhead box too because I have no self control.

Not at all. It would be poor self control to NOT have AT LEAST one spearhead of every grand alliance!

The Skaven Spearhead comes in at 930pts. Wont be listed until it goes up for sale separately but still probably better off buying skaventide box instead

Great work Andy, good to see these put side by side like this. Isn't Yndrasta's spearhead 1030? I thought Vanquishers were 5 to a unit and there are 10 in the box.

Others have mentioned it but Spearhead are rebranded Vanguards. You've got to search both

@@janikd7948 after the 40k debacle, I'm prepared to not REALLY enjoy myself all that much. I don't think I'll love the game. But maybe I'll tolerate it enough to put cool models on the board! I have a "full" cities of sigmar army! But by full I mean I have one of everything which probably isn't very good I guess

Technically already own NH, sylvaneth, and OBR, own COS and will be getting Skaventide (started AoS in earnest with Skaven, so I'll have both spearhead lists).

Just wild speculation, as they should have a spearhead regardless, maybe Orruk Warclans and Fyreslayers are getting some sort of update soon. First army books after SCE and Skaven or some kind of vs box set

I think Flesh eater courts are up at almost 1k if i remember righty, but I am hoping a lot of poeple play more spearhead. I think its looking like a more tactical game, less amount can I google the killer list and turn up with. It all about how good you are on the table at acting and reacting to whats going on.

Interesting video. I’m new to AOS so love the extra bit of research. Also. I was about to buy a Fyreslayers spearhead. It was on the site at the weekend but now it’s gone. It may be a new Spearhead revamp. 😮

I’m going to see if I can pick up the Spearhead content from the Skaventide box. That’s the only part of AoS that holds my interest. Been watching various creators talk about the preview experiences they’ve had, and the feedback has been pretty positive. My own first impression of Spearhead was fairly negative, largely due to the seemingly tiny play area vis-a-vis the number of models involved. Only time will tell if Spearhead is an actual viable option going forward, or if it’s just Combat Patrol redux.

@@earnestwanderer2471 I have yet to play anything from 4.0 of course, but I am relatively dismissive of people's preview event experiences. It's nice to hear what they're saying because I'm already interested, but people like being treated to special events and so they're very biased. Which is fine, I prefer positivity to anger, but you've just got to be aware of what you're watching. You're not watching objective critics, is all. I intend to use spearhead as a few learning games for all of my factions but then go to 1 or 2k games :)

So far we've had two 'spearhead tournaments' one from vanguard tactics, one from hellstorm wargaming. Both had significantly different results. Spearhead seems to be actually built from the ground up for a rough balance (45-55% wr for most). The cards are a really good idea. Combat Patrol feels like a 12pm on friday "oh crap we need some sort of beginner game mode". Also Spearhead was aggressively tested internally.

Also kruleboyz do have a spear in the main spearhead book. Its just also the old vanguard box

Generals Handbook already comes in the Skaventide box 😢

@@GlassHalfDead actually the cards do not include rules for Endless Spells and Manifestations so it did pay off that you ordered it separately.

Wait, do I need to get the general's handbook even if i get the skaventide box set? I thought that the handbook was in the box.

I’m normally a chaos fan, but the ossiarchs are going to be my spearhead.

I'm guessing Seraphon, as their points cost are now higher than in their 3rd E AOS battletome.

Ithe Maggotkin box can be 780 points if you build one of the Pusgoyles as a lord of afflictions

Great video. I think you missed the new Stormcast spearhead though. Skaventide Stormcast plus the old Stormcast spearhead is basically 2k points I think

I calculated the Stormcast Yndrasta spearhead as 1030 points. Was I not supposed to double the cost of the Vanquishers for reinforcing from 5 to 10?

Agreed, Stormcast is 1030. That hardly seems fair some of these other spearheads like Cities. You can bring the steelhelms back once per game after they die so in a spearhead game you get 670 points but that's still about 360 point difference. Fyreslayers is not on the list either and they sit around 820.

Yndrasta alone is 360pts lol

0:58 maybe, but if people preferred better games, no one would be playing AOS because the old world is now out.
