@@jwithextrajj Their is already something for this, itsa tweaked monster guide that uses as System of pros and cons to measure power and allows a player to effectively play any race with a monster sheet. To warn you, it's best to make the players limit themselves further if they want an ultra powerful race, like being blind and/or deaf, being dumb (I mean quite literally barely able to understand human speech) or other such limitations. And only do this with players you trust because I tried to allow my friend and my party to be whatever race they wanted. He created wraith from Ben10 omniverse and we argued up and down about it. He refused to give it any system of balances to the point he preferred to play a "flavortext tabaxi with the claws only coming out of the back of his hands" I said then just play a tabaxi named wraith and flavor text its buff and don't change anything else. He got mad and told me I only want to have fun and he isn't allowed. Etc etc. Its a slippery slope playing this kinda game. If you do it,might mind the party and dm you choose to run it.

Yeah I completely agree with the necromancy one - don’t get me wrong, I love the anime swordsman/ garlic bread domain meme builds, but while it was a bit… Poorly worded and probably needs a bit of tweaking, the concept of forsaking death saving roles to come back as a weakened undead that has to kill in that form to return to life is actually a really interesting spin on a part of the game that people don’t really touch that often.

The only problem for me personally, is that it doesn't line up that well with how Undeath in D&D actually works. Flavor wise, maybe they are some sort of Half Vampire, that instead of dying, succumbs to the Red Thirst and needs to Vamp someone to be less dead. It's a cool game mechanic, but isn't very lore friendly. Mechanically it would work better for some kind of Elder Scrolls vampire?

Tiamat: "First off, who are you, mortal, that you dare come to my domain and confront me alone? Don't you know who I am? Second, no, ew, it's disgusting." GDC: Pretends that his hand is a jack-in-the-box, except instead of a clown, his middle finger is what gets cranked up. Proceeds to flip off Tiamat. "G A R L I C MF, DO YOU SPEAK IT?" Idea for the half dragon, put wealth as a gauge kind of deal. You have a set area in the material plane that must be in a cave, castle, or dungeon. This area is known as your hoard, the overall cost of items in your hoard will give you power. Depending on what type (chromatic or metallic) you will get different branches of abilities with your gaining wealth stored in your hoars.

Quick note on teleporting while covered by dark or dim light. We had that in 3.5 as a prestige class called Shadowdancer which let you teleport and hide an any shadow within view. That prestige class was nerfed and tucked away in the monk school Way of the Shadow, forever removing the Rogue or prospective ninja from gaining this ability without rigorous dedication and training as a monk. Or you could cross class yourself into oblivion and do a lot of semi-useful things. I miss cross-classing in 3.5.
