I think one of the things that Jay didn't comment on that I have noticed and appreciate is the amount of work that goes into the color grading your content. Combing the color grading, the detailed work on your B-roll shots along with the lighting and composition of your main shots, and you definitely produce videos that have a much more cinematic feeling than is typical of tech KZread.

My argument for Cable managament is and always will be: The more work you put into hiding the cables, the more work you have to put into pulling them out again if you want to upgrade/maintain/change something. That could easily fit in the corner where your sim pit is. Old bookshelves are perfect for it. The drawers if you needed the storage could be made from scratch too using some recovered wood. Give the room the appearence of Naval Officer's quarters. It would be different.

I really liked Sara Dietschy's setup she had in her New York studio. She gave a very detailed explanation of why she had what she had, flexible lighting, DSLR mounted far from her face to help keep her eyes from looking down even when reading from a screen. She also had lots of redundancy since she did scheduled interviews and couldn't risk losing content if something went wrong during recording.

Linus's new house isn't a scratch build. He did a couple of vlogs, one where he says the office cabinetry needs to go because "it's not us", and he was upgrading the infloor heating and the thermostats from analog to smart.

Quite a few of the camera companies are making webcam software for their DSLR and mirrorless cameras. Luke uses that with his Cannon DLSR. I have that for my Nikon too. So all those need is USB and power.

Jay your setup is great. You talked about how it looks like a bunch of randomly elements have been pulled from thin air and that there is no theme but there is a theme. The theme is that everything there is important to you in some way, and that is a great way to create any pc setup

I find the notifications statement at the end funny. Every other youtuber was making a big deal out of also hitting the bell and now it's like "doesn't work". I never used it because I only get on youtube when I am going to watch videos. Which means I am always going to see 100% of my subscribed channels videos as soon as I possibly can. Which quite often is seconds to minutes after they come out. The KZread alerts I get are often for videos I already watched or have already seen exist several times. KZread could do with some work on that lol

you should put like a black carpet on the back wall, do a crazy wall mount set up and hide all the wires behind the carpet, it will make for great sound and have a unique look especially if you got creative with wall mounted stuff with hidden wires

Something to note, the single Alex drawer is taller than the wide drawer by a few inches, especially if you don't use the casters. Nothing you can't overcome, but just be aware that you'll need different length standoffs for each.

Honestly, I'm digging some of the Asus ROG Ikea stuff. Particularly the peg board and trophy case, but if you'd use it in your already dark room I would have preferred if they had a white option or stainless steel instead of the black. Or they do have metal pegboard at Home Depot or Lowes that you can get in stainless steel which looks good, too, but I do like the ROG theming on the Ikea one. Linus's setup was updated last December, prior to the picture used in this video, and he did a Logitech sponsored video taking care of the cable management. His clickbait title for the video was "It's time to break up." He did switch over to a wireless keyboard and mouse, as well as drilling holes through the desk to route cables underneath it as best he could.

Alex drawers with the Uppspel desktop is a great desk setup. I just got it 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it. The Karlby tops are just not deep enough. Unfortunately the Uppspel is wider than the Alex drawers, but I put a plant beside it to hide the gap behind the wall and it looks great. It is a beautiful, functional monochrome setup that looks very modern. I couldn't be happier

Hi bro, since you've been putting much effort into your truly fascinating Star Wars case builds, might I suggest that you come up with a Millennium Falcon-inspired interior PC setup, particularly the "gaming area" where Chewbacca and R2D2 were slugging it out with holographic chess in a New Hope. Your work on it would make a perfect series of videos as well.

How about some kinda patterned texture wall? like a spider web or fractal pattern? (perhaps some 90's holo stickers, lol) Also try sound dampening on ceiling or even along the top boarder of the walls which can be out of foci and help. My brother used a plywood board with foam attached to it which he could tuck into a closet when not streaming. His studio broke down into tuck-away props. The plants and multiple angled props, curtains ect from Canucks help dampen noise. I really enjoyed this video and will check out those other YT for setup ideas.

And that Anime one actually makes me super stoked.. because I have a 34 inch ultra wide.. and then a 240hz 24 inch gaming monitor.. I cant find a monitor mount that will support them both prooperly and let me move one above the other or in front of the other when i want to game.. and i love the way that he did it.. it would work for the CAD work that I do as well... love it.. not the color scheme but the functionality of it seems like it would be the best. and those speakers are incredible.
