Eventually....every single person who ever plays for the Make Beliefs is hated by the fanbase. The ONLY exceptions to this rule is if your last name is Sundin or Clark...but....eventually....every single person who ever plays for the Make Beliefs is hated by the fanbase. The fact that ALOT of former Laffs have success after leaving the Laffs team is proof positive of a severely broken sports organization that has spent more than 50 years finding new ways to lose.

The Leafs fans complain about all their goalies. It's NOT their goaltending it's that they are offense heavy with poor team defense! That makes any goalie look bad.

Canes are basically playing a WC team right now. 3rd in the metro used to actually be a respectable position, but this year the metro took a deep dive. So yeah, Canes didn't really have more of a disadvantage than finishing 1st in the metro, so they are a bit lucky for that. They have still demonstrated a lot of weaknesses, and wouldn't be up 3-0 right now under normal circumstances. Isles outplayed 2/3 of these games and lost, so a sweep would be a bit deceiving of how good the Canes really are

Seriously, the Canes have owned the Isles since 2019. They play a similar style of hockey, but the Canes are just better in every area of the game.

Had the Isles not blowing the 3 goal lead in Game 2, this series would be more interesting. But from what I see, it would take a miracle for the Isles to mount a comeback.

Four sets of rules. Preseason, bulk of season, after trade deadline, playoffs. Preseason get a penalty for scowling, playoffs...axe murder is fine.

I would not be surprised if it was VGK vs Carolina Hurricanes in the Finals this year. Would not surprise me at all. I know a lot of people want to see the Canucks or the Rangers pull through this year, but I'm not too optimistic about it. Canes are such an elite team on so many levels, and they've been in this mid-playoffs dance for several years now.

I think Florida is the team to beat in the East. Its a toss up between the NYR and the Canes that might just come down to who wants it more, not necessarily who is better. The way things are looking, it could easily be a rematch of Florida and Vegas, but it's still early.

Rangers are more of a wild card. They have a lot of players that can contribute and be the x-factor. And it depends on how much of the pace they can control. I'd say Florida and Canes are better units, but Rangers have more of a danger factor about them

Please wear a Whalers jersey if they sweep the isles

We haven't played good hockey really in games 1 or 3 and are up 3-0. Truly a testament to how fully built this team is

Hoping for a clean sweep as an islanders fan. Ownership is clueless as to how a hockey team should be run. Lou has long overstayed his welcome and has set the franchise back years just as he did in NJ. There’s absolutely no reason why Engvall and mayfield should be under contract, let alone for 6 more years with NTCs meanwhile Barzal of all people doesn’t have one.

​@@TofMyGlnot the same team that lost to Florida last year. All 4 games were 1 goal games and the Canes are scoring a lot more goals since the deadline than they did last year. Beat Panthers 2/3 in regular season both were shutouts. The game the Panthers won was at the beginning while the Canes were losing to everyone. We'll see in a few weeks I guess

@@ncobs1 i think it’s difficult to predict, each playoff year is different. Canes can beat FLA but at least it’ll not be easy… But personally I think FLA could be in final for a second year… Very competitive playoffs!

It’s usually the canes who are the ones in a series playing good just not getting results. Nice to see them step up but, going to need another year for the next rounds to really go all the way. Don’t think they have played a complete game just yet. Hopefully have one for game 4.

Next team on the chopping block is Dallas. 0-3 vs. the VGK is as good as done.

Big players have to come up big. Dobson and Sorokin came up small.

I enjoy the win as a massive Canes fan, but yeah the Canes didn't play their best and still won. One of those wins that you'll take, but only concerning for future games. Canes deserved the last game in my opinion and Isles in this one.

When ESPN announcers are hyping that New York teams, or any other opposing team are still in it down 5-0, what they are really saying is "God, we hate this Hurricanes team! They should still be the Whalers! Anybody but the Canes! C'mon, refs! Call something!"...Been going on for years. Usually works too, when it's the Rangers or Bruins...Compliments to Freddy Andersen. He's staying in net... 🙂...Good things happen when you guard the front door...Lotsa points from the Canes' blueliners tonight. Not sure what that means really... 🤔

As a fan of the team since Hartford they despised the Whalers too no matter what Bas they claim now , The chick on the broadcast tonight was like hopefully the Islanders tie it up or something similar and I'm like huh! what? . The only one that ever has our back in any way on the ESPN/TNT/TBS shows is Kevin Weekes .

Maybe you're just used to local broadcast calling everything for your Canes that you don't know what a national broadcast that's looking for a good game or series sounds like. It's not about YOU and YOUR Hurricanes. He even talks about it at 4:40. Grow up children. Or go put on your magic underwear that can help you overcome the commentator jinx.

It’s New York based media. They always prop up New York teams. Everything is always told from the angle of the New York team being the protagonist regardless of the situation. The high stick to Staal was identical to the High stick in the last game to the Islander player. They were fine with the canes penalty. Flabbergasted that the Islander one was.

I expected this game to be more feisty after how game 2 ended.

Isles need a miracle now, but year after year the Canes have had their number.

Liking the ESPN broadcasts this playoffs so far. Seems audacious to me when they go to the bench during the game and ask the coach questions. Are coaches required to respond or just a nicety? Having a hard time picturing for instance Darryl Sutter putting on a nice guy face to respond to media in the heat of battle.

Isles are simply outmatched. I still say Canes in 5 but i would not be surprised if the Isles got swept. We shall see.

5:57 can’t speak for the UBS crowds but at MSG there are two levels. If it’s general frustration it’s “these refs suck” referring to both refs and probably also the linesmen colloquially. If it’s a particularly heinous call by one ref he gets the hole.

Sounds about right, but as an Islander fan I think it's based in the fact the reffing has seemed lopped sided in calls all series. And don't get me wrong we deserved a fair few penalties but it's the egregious stuff that they don't call on Carolina. Particulary Guentzal's high stick on Varly that literally ripped his mask off. Meanwhile we are getting getting called pretty fairly.

Me and 1/100th of a bitcoin predicted Canes in 4.

Fire Patrick Roy immediately. He is not an NHL coach. This amateurish decision proves it.

Actually, the FLA-TB game was a 7:00 start and CAR-NYI was a 7:30 start

I would say that this was the Canes worst game of the 3. It doesn't help that Canes and Isles seem to have swapped PP and PK stats. I may be biased but I really feel like the Refs have been favoring the Isles. The Canes play a notoriously clean game, and yet the Canes have been eating really soft called penalties meanwhile we've only had 2 calls actually go our way in 3 games. Everything else that got called to give the Canes a powerplay was Isles dumb mistakes that are always gonna get called, delay of game and too many men.

ESPN is absolutely abysmal for coverage. Between their PxP people not knowing what they are talking about of some of their color analysts literally not even playing the damn game, it's criminal they own the rights for broadcasts. TNT/TBS' coverage is so much better. They have the better, more traditional teams and PxP people like Forslund and Albert. Even their in studio crew and in game experience is better. ESPN is garbage in every facet for NHL coverage.

The islanders are a really boring team to watch and Sorokin is off his game as of late but they are a much better team than Carolina is making them look. Carolina is scary good. I thought Roy should have played Sorokin in game 2 imo but oh well people will blame Sorokin but I think he’s the islanders only dying chance of winning the series.

Honestly the playoffs have been pretty boring this year outside of Boston/Toronto and Winnipeg/Colorado
