I’ll be honest, I partially watched just in anticipation of getting to say “wHaT aBoUt ThE gBa PoRtS” and then you totally went deeper than we’d known possible - I’ll know better for next time! More importantly, thanks for passing on the settings for Dolphin for SSX3. I basically bought my steam deck to play this game and it’s a welcome improvement

I need SSX on PC so bad. I even bought EAPLAY as an ad convinced me i could play it on PC.. sad days

Got SSX working halfway decent (well, decent enough to play it and still have fun) on PCSX2. Had to set the output to native, audio to async, and hardware mode to "disable readbacks", in addition to the settings mentioned underneath the video. It's strange how the oldest game in the series seems to be the hardest one to emulate. Tricky and 3 both worked fine for me, pretty much right out of the gate. Edit: I think setting the audio to "async" will fix most audio glitching/crackling on all of the PS2 versions.

Im taking the dolphin version of on tour strictly for the mario, luigi, and peach 😂

I didn't even know SSX on Tour for the PSP existed. Probably would've loved it more as a child since it's just SSX3 tracks but with On Tour's paint job. Performed well too.

I mentioned this on the Burnout video but I got SSX working on Xenia changing gpu to d3d12 on xenia config and xenia canary config

My own experience running Tricky on Deck was that reducing the resolution on Dolphin allowed me to reach a solid 60 throughout the game, obviously that is a large compromise though. It's worth noting that PCSX2 also renders the snow a bit too dimly, which makes the game feel less vibrant than it otherwise does. I didn't try using Xemu on my Deck to play it, but on my PC it runs without any graphical issues, so I'm confused as to why you encountered so many playing it on Deck.

When performing these tests, have you used the fixes from Cryoutilities? If not, what effect on performance would you think they have?

Have you gotten Champions of Norrath and Return to arms working? Thats the one series ive been BEGGING to play on my deck and seem to be having troubles.

@Project Edan I’ve never been able to get the ps2 version or any version working on steam deck. It runs with in slow motion. It’s completely unplayable. Do you have any suggestions? This is one of my all time favorites and have been bummed for two years because I’ve never been able to get it functional

The Gizmondo port of 3 is also on the N-Gage (which is a much easier system to emulate) as SSX Out of Bounds 26:00 Because it IS SSX 3 but asset-flipped with On Tour's shitty artstyle

Xbox really is a hard machine to emulate, Best emulator out there is the Xbox 360 (and even then, it's still less than half and not perfect, but way better than here). Wish they could make Tricky and On Tour compatible on Series X one day. SSX 3 works on both 360 and One/Series (only issue is that on 360 it stretches 16:9 into 4:3 for whatever reason, but hey, it's 1800p on Series X 16:9)

Also um, all versions of On Tour runs at 30fps, and PSP On Tour is basically SSX 3 with On Tour style.
