SAI can be a simple and cheap fix, bike brake cable in a drill inserted into the SAI port from below.

@@bidnerds lots of info and full procedure on rennlist but you run the cable in your drill up from below. With the exhaust headers removed and solvent poured in through the removed or modified SAI check valve.

I’m over Bring A Trailer too. Waited weeks and weeks to go live with my 991.1 GTS and nobody could give any clear timeline. I had to move before going live and pay $2500 to ship the car. Bastards.

In September there were clean C2's with similar mile closing for nearly $130k, and most of the 993 that have been selling for less have been higher milage or C4's. Also, it seems odd that SC's in the same condition are bringing similar money to this car. Maybe that's apples to orange, but what do you think the market is saying about 993's?

Is this a C2s or a C2 ? If its a C2s then yes that was a good buy however it looked just like a C2 coupe to me and 85 seems very high

They say in the video about 100 times that it is a C2 narrowbody NOT a widebody c2S

Porsche didn't offer 993s with black stone guards - Easy to change the guards and wheels. 993 - OBD2 993 cars will ALWAYS be an issue in CALIFORNIA - Unless you have ave a family member who can do your smog check. If you live in CALIFORNIA buy a 1995 993.

They did offer stone guards in black but no one optioned their car with them. Everyone choose to either get clear or color match. yes color match was an option too. If you ever decide to change the original guards, be very careful. After thirty or more years they can bond to the paint. Ask JP how he knows. You're right that the secondary air unit on the OBDII cars are a constant problem even after they have been repaired. A repair that costs ten grand BTW.

@@bidnerds ... Show me any year 993 Carrera order guide. I dare ya. The 993 of any market did not offer black rear fender stone guards. . Nadda, never. . A limited number of stock no-charge paint colors had color-infused stone guards/Spats as production in '97 & '98 RoW... It was a 3M fluke ...

@@michaelschneider- Porsche Classic (TM) offers them currently. We can't think of anything they sell that wasn't originally offered by the factory. Is this an exception?

@@bidnerds Supply and demand, though the general Porsche market has changed with Crypto money and the Wall Street crowd and now these folks are sinking hundreds of thousands $$$ into RSR tributes on non galvanized Pre-75 frames only makes sense for California smog issues. In summary , market red hot but on "Outlaw Hot Rods" Just check BaT on what's bringing in the money.

European market , straight classic's prices making vintage 911 un-touchable.

I disagree all the boxes were not checked lack of service records and maintenance hurt this car driver condition does not make a market. Proof being a g body car sold for more than this car the very next day, if an aircooled has condition- color- miles- documentation it will still bring all the money

Agreed, base 993 from a cold weather state with no records hurt this auction (so did the football game). But those are the opportunities a lot of us hope for, well bought.

I truly think so, I believe any generation of air cooled 911 that is a collector grade car real condition #2 or better perfect paint low miles etc. etc. will bring the big money. I think the problem is some people think driver level cars should do the same only a very small percentage of cars are true #2. When they become available they continue to set strong numbers regardless of what generation the car is.

Most Porsche fans would tend to agree with you, but the 993 does have some features the 964 doesn't that make make it objectively better car don't you think? ^ speed G50 trans, a little more horsepower, better suspension etc?

I prefer the 993 over the 964 engine wise, looks wise. Prettier in every which way and a better car as well. ❤️
