I got this game back in 2004, so my nostalgia is a factor, but this is an amazing coop game imo. The aiming reticle stays small so you can fire off more shots in less time, but you have to be coordinated with the driver. Its a creative difference in advantages.

Well you have to give the game credit for having several ways to play with the peripherals and to be honest i would actually like and try this co-op with both Steering Wheel & Light Gun, haha. Another good review.

I've literally found this game in a thrift shop and they gave it per kilo price with the clothes. I practically got it for free!

I remember I got this game free when i bought a koko krunch cereal. I got the pc version and my computer was so old that it was having issues playing the game. Then i lend it to my cousin to play. First time i saw him play it, i was impressed by the game at that time. Koz it was different. It wasn't like other car games genre that was racing. This one was new genre action driving game and was a kinda of a free roam game where u can explore the map in the free roam mode. And it was the first free roam car game i played before any gta or driver games. Kinda fun memories for me.

I got into light gun games a few years ago and became interested in Starsky & Hutch because it also supports a steering wheel. I found a wheel for a decent price, and playing by yourself with both a gun and a wheel (with pedals) at the same time is not only possible, but works much better than it has any right to! The sense of immersion is excellent, but I do agree that the game is somewhat repetitive. Namco had made an arcade game in 1993 Lucky & Wild that may have inspired this game.

I discovered the game's soundtrack got a vinyl release while browsing an antique store, which for a game like this is unexpected.

Im pretty sure this game was in PC as I played the demo in the 2000's, or was it just the demo for an unreleased PC version ?

I like the sound of the 2 player control setup, and the idea of doing things like jumps to "improve viewer rating" is a nice touch... However, I feel that a game like Stuntman (a ps2 launch title) at least appeared to do that second aspect better...

  • @RetroGameRater

Correct, Stuntman does handle that aspect much better.

Games always seemed shallow to me in those same ways, but then I'd still like to get hold of it, purely because I love a lightgun game. Great review as always mate. Also I know know of one other game with this set up: Lucky & Wild which was arcade only

Damn this game was my childhood I remember getting it on pc and I kept playing all night all day trying to pass the first goddamn mission Well after a month I finally discovered that you can actually shoot while driving and the game isn't about crashing the car into target Time passed and I did everything I could do in this game god I miss those times

I played this briefly and forgot about it, and as sad as this is it looks like I was right to put it down. It’s not bad, but it’s just a game which exists and this video confirms that I basically saw everything the game had to offer after just one episode. The concept and things like the light gun support are neat ideas - and the light gun support works on both PS2 and Xbox, something which wasn’t used on the latter platform much besides House of the Dead III - but the game surrounding those ideas isn’t quite as good. It’s also technically deficient in some ways; the lock-on shooting feels inconsistent and often targets things you didn’t mean to, the draw distance looks like something out of the N64, and the game is one of the few titles on Xbox to be limited to just 480i, which is very odd since most games on the system support at least 480p (at least in North America).

Back in the day, game developers really wanted to make games based of TV shows and movies. Guess they figured they would make a lot of money. It does seem like you’ll have fun with the game for a while before it gets repetitive. And also it looks a bit tricky to control both the driving and shooting. But yeah... This is a game I wouldn’t play 😅

Kinda reminds me of 187 ride or die. It was pretty cool gameplay wise but I wasn't a fan of the gangster/hip-hop overall design. It even had an online mode but the game didn't sell very well so, that too got boring pretty fast.

I think its a pretty good game Considering low budget u have to stick to something and cant get crazy with ideas or its not gonna be a game with any sort of path in gameplay style Played it co-op and its a really good time and the game isnt long so it doesnt even take u that much time to 100% it and get All cars At least u figured out not to spam shoot because its a waste of time it does so much more Damage if u let the reticle zoom in a bit before shooting

I am pretty sure that this was a budget game. I remember getting it for something like 15 USD when I was a kid. It was released right around the time of the 04 movie so that was the only way I recognized the name and wanted to get it at all. Still, the game sucked back then too.

Because this game is repetitive. It would be best to just play one or two episodes at a time per week. And absolutely, it should be played co-op. The steering wheel could work I think, but I think that would need a CRT TV for the light gun to work. I've watched the show. It's pretty decent. But I sincerely wish that Rockstar (North?) Could have made this game. With the control system not only like GTA, but also like Manhunt (without the explicit violence), The Warriors, and Bully.
