    Audacity would probably be the best, relatively easy to use and lots of room for growth plus its free. pluging the RCA cable into a female rca to male 3.5mm would then let you plug it into your computers mic input plug and be able to record.

    is it true that you can only play 7 and 12" on this? I've some 10" as well so I want to be sure before I buy this one

  • @Viv3ify2

    @Viv3ify2

    4 жыл бұрын

    Don't know if you still need this info, but I've had one of these turntables. While the automated arm only fit 7 and 12", then you can manually set the tonearm on a 10", simply by pushing the right 'up / down' button, move the tonearm over the 10" edge, and push the 'up / down' button again, to let the tonearm fall down onto 10". So yes, it can play 10" if you set the arm manually. Hope this helps :)

  • @vinylvideos5704

    @vinylvideos5704

    5 жыл бұрын

    This may be the problem..The built in pre amp is currently turned on inside the turntable, and the phono port on the receiver also functions as a pre amp, so you are amplifying the turntable signal twice. The CD port does not have the phono stage, so it just uses the intended pre amp in the turntable, and sounds as it should. If you wanted to use it in the phono port, switch the pre amp switch on your turntable. For more info look on page 8 here: docs.sony.com/release//Manual_3198123161.pdf

  • @RainbowGravity92

    @RainbowGravity92

    4 жыл бұрын

    There's no way to adjust the weight. You could tape a coin go it, but there's a good possibility that you'll have to replace it. I had one that was open box and the needle would skate across. I got another one, brand new and it didn't have the issue. Depends on how it was shipped during transit.

    @@RainbowGravity92 I thought that it might be off balance too . What happened was I ended up pulling the whole cartridge off instead of just the cover and maybe I dont have it on right so I'm going to try a new cartridge

  • @RainbowGravity92

    @RainbowGravity92

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@kevinsnodgrass6222 yeah, it takes a bit of patience to put the needle back on, but that's because it's magnetic instead of ceramic. Ceramic is super heavy and it adds weight and the track force becomes heavy enough to damage records. That's why the suitcase crosleys/victrolas are best to be avoided. Plus, with the Sony, replacement diamond needles are made from plenty of manufacturers that make them compatible with this.

  • @marcapaulajos

    Does it have a built in preamp? I plug in mine to my home theater but it’s only about half the volume as if you’re watching a movie or listening to a CD. I was told it doesn’t have a built in preamp and that’s why the output is low.

  • @JordanBolland

    @JordanBolland

    4 жыл бұрын

    Yes, it does. On the back there is a switch labeled line/phono. It activates/deactivates the built in preamp. You'd use line mode if your setup doesn't have a dedicated phono input with it.

  • @marcapaulajos

    @marcapaulajos

    It's not that great of a pre-amp and in general not that great of a turntable. I can't seem to be able to crank the volume with it, the output is pretty poor and you get a really bad feedback hum when you turn it up loud.

  • @macca742

    @macca742

    @@marcapaulajos Yes I had all these problems too. I have yet to make a decent recording despite using 3 different software programmes, two different computers and boosting the output with a conventional phono amp. I would not recommend this turntable.
