REVIEW: Sako Brown Bear 416 Rigby

Спорт

The recent addition of the XL action to the Sako 85 Brown Bear meant that it was just perfect for Rob's Cape Buffalo hunt in Namibia. Rob Fickling, from the popular hunting program Beyond the Divide took the rifle, chambered in .416 Rigby, to hunt the bull.
Check out Rob's review of the rifle.

Excellent review! Straight to the point on features. I am just getting started with a .375 H & H but it is not a Sako. I like that rifle!

What is the apparent recoil compared to the same rifle in .375 H&H? Everyone I've talked to says the 'kick' is every bit of the .458 Win mag. I had a Leupold Vari-x ii scope on my last Valmet 9.3x74 double. A fine scope for heavy rifles in the field.

It’s about the same as the .458 Win. Lighter bullet but faster. .375 H&H is much less.

Mauser and Heym both are great but so is the CZ. It gives up nothing to them but degree of fanciness and even that you can get from the CZ custom shop.

Who wants a blues rifle in this day and age? They are notorious for corroding. Stainless or cerakote is a much better finish to last generations.

Sako 85 Kodiak is same but stainless. Some ppl don't like too modern materials at their rifles for esthetic reasons. Both work but one has to give more love to blued parts.
