6 years on, this watch is still on my radar simply because of the combination of a jump hour and 12 hour bezel, the perfect travel combination. Too bad the prices are around $10-$11k USD at the moment. Double the newer version RRP, and almost triple the price of a current version pre-owned. Ohh well, a guy can still dream!

I own the base model Seamaster 300. I purchased a similar Nato to the Bond at my local boutique. Great video on how to change to the bracelet. The Spectre model is a great investment. Beautiful watch and thanks for the strap change instruction.

Nice review as always. For a 007, nice that it flies under radar. I chose the standard model on leather and picked up an Omega black NATO with subtle gray edge trim. Just a great and versatile piece as you mention. Thanks!

Fantastic review. Been thinking about this model for a while... but also a fan of Tudor Black Bay (Black). Having seen your Tudor review (also with a NATO strap), keen to know how they both compare.

Well the Tudor is a lot of watch for the money, but the Spectre is a special watch, and I'd go for that every time. The SM300 standard model can be found at decent prices used or grey market, but I'm happy I paid the premium and went for the Spectre. The Tudor was sold within a few weeks as I just didn't bond with it for some reason.

Great vid! :) How is the bezel action compared to your Seadweller? :) I simply LOVE The bezel action on my Submariner Hulk, which is the same for the SD 4000. Bulky boxes are annoying, unless you have plenty of storage space and they play a very small part in my watch purchases. My rolex boxes may not be as nice as the Panerai box, but the Rolex boxes exactly do what they are intended for and are nice and compact unless you get the gold versions. Very cool with the Nato strap though! The Omega bracelet is not in the current Submariner bracelet league though.

lovely watch. love lollipop seconds hand. I don't tend to like limited editions where it's blatantly stated on dial but this one is discreet. bezel is a interesting twist on standard model.

Ah, OK. Glad to hear it's only dust, and not a scratch on that beautiful bezel! I know the Planet Ocean ceramic bezels have been known to scratch, and was hoping that wasn't the case here too.

+MainerInJapan Thanks, I hope it's only the matte PO bezels that show scratches. Glossy bezels seem more resilient for whatever reason, although I don't want to test that theory!! 😄😄

The NATO strap material is the same as any other nylon straps, polyamide is nylon. What is different is indeed the construction quality.

Very cool watch, and I'm glad you are so happy with it. The material on that NATO looks high quality, and the colors go great with the watch. But, I really don't understand the fad with NATO straps. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so long, but having all of that excess material that has to be stuffed into the extra metal loops just doesn't make sense to me, in the fact that most people are not going to be wearing their watch directly on their wrist, and also over bulky diving and military apparel. The logic escapes me, but I guess it's just some kind of fashion statement. I've tried NATOs and ZULUs, and I find that since most automatics have a bulging case back the watch rides too high, especially on a smaller wrist like my 165mm. And then all that material hanging off the side of the wrist looks weird. Now I did just purchase a very thin quartz watch for a beater and put it on a Perlon strap, and it's working out just perfectly for me. It lays super flat, is infinitely adjustable, and is very comfortable. Of course, the large weave of Perlon just wouldn't mesh with something in the class of your Omega, but I think a conventional two piece strap with the Spectre material would look great. Just my opinion on straps, but I do really love your watch.

+CHRIS LJ Perlon straps are fantastic. I used one on my Apollo 45th for a while and it worked very well. It's horses for courses. IMO, the Omega NATO is a league above any other I've tried, or several leagues in fact. However some people may not get on with this type of strap. I will say, I really stand by my thoughts in the review. Comfortable, great in a hot climate, tough, very nice to look at etc. As much as I liked my Perlon on a similar priced watch, this NATO is definitely superior IMO.

Well then you'll like the video I'm aiming to create talking about the merits and disadvantages of Rolex. People jump straight to that brand and don't take the competition seriously enough. There's a lot more character to the Omega compared to any modern Rolex I have owned.

redazi1 Rolex is the choice for people who have poor taste, that are suckers for bling. The Omega is for people who have a national understated scene of quality and good taste. Wide boy, car dealers usually go for Rolex, because they think owning one makes them look wealthy or successful, when in fact, it only makes them look like they missed that train!
