The fact that you have to hold the button while grinding is a show stopper for me...What were they thinking?
The switch operation is odd for a grinder intended to regularly grind 60+ grams... The catch cup does look like a better design than the Filtro.
I wonder how this compares to the Eureka Filtro
I have the OXO conical burr grinder. Do you think this one is worth the upgrade for using in a Moccamaster Brewer for brewed coffee?

Ye sit would be a significant upgrade. Better overall performance from the Grinder for sure.

@@AlternativeBrewing thanks for the feedback. I ordered one on prime day and figured I could send it back if I didn’t like it.
What number would you recommend to grind the beans on? I have used 5 for my beans but get a lot of coffee “dust”, tried 6 and it is less dust but the water doesn’t go through the filter as well. Then I tried 4 and not sure I liked the results. So what’s the best number.

Sounds like 5 is the best bet - and you may need to either remove the dust with another instrument - or try stirring the beans before they're ground with a wet spoon -(only slightly wet) this may decrease the amount of retention and dust created 🫶
For someone who does mainly pour over coffee, would this a worthy upgrade from the Baratza Encore? I am guessing the difference would be negligible unless you are using for espresso, but that's why I am asking.

@@AlternativeBrewing that was the main tip off, but the hopper feeder is too, just without the Perspex cutting in towards the feeder. May have been a collaborative effort?

It can usually be the case yes, - slight modifications - re-badged for another brand. Many many hand grinders you'll see have this, and some Espresso Machines too
If only it had a simple on/off rocker switch instead of the hold switch - would be a pretty good option then. As it stands, its pretty much a hard pass for most people I would say......I wonder if the switch is moddable - would be quite simple in principle.....
holding that button is a no go for me.
This is a very "American" lifestyle of having "cawfeee"... ☕

Pretty much anywhere that’s not Australia, New Zealand, England and Italy have a large proportion of the population who drink this drip style of coffee. Scandinavian countries they drink this several times a day!

Aussies also like their long blacks
Don't see the point of holding the button down. Most comparable grinders have freedom of choice, where it grinds itself after starting. Weakly rated by Technivorm. This grinder is not considered for purchase.
