A GREAT REVIEW! I appreciate it. I'm 6'4" with a 33 inch inseam and I want one of these. I have an Electraglide now....and I love it...but it was built for slightly smaller people! I like those long, lanky bikes. I used to run a "Gilroy" years Indian store....and I loved riding the big ass 68 inch wheelbase cruisers! Looks like I NEED one of these! LOL!

@@sanj5026 it’s my second bike. I had a Honda Shadow 750 before. I’ve grown to appreciate the windshield more since my first comment. It’s good in the cold winter. But I still don’t use it in the hot summer. The Chief Vintage is a very fun bike. Probably not the best choice for a daily commuter, because the white wall tires and soft bags would be a nuisance to maintain in bad weather. But for sunny weekend joy rides, it’s really great.

Very nice and informative video again Rabid Hedgehog! it is just too nice riding without a fairing, that's why I am still in love with my Springfield I bought 2016! And I agree, the agility is a bit better compared to fairing models. BUT!...Occasionally a fairing is just nice and practical. The stock windshields are producing a lot of more buffeting than a full fairing. That is the reason why I will buy from the US an aftermarket quick release Batwing fairing. Then I have the best of both worlds and let the weather and my mood decide how I want to ride! :-)

The Springfield is going to be the hard bag version that can be locked up with a 116 engine, little bit longer than the Chieftain but a smidge shorter than the Vintage bike with higher mini apes and such. The Vintage is the longer version and lightest as well with only the 111 engine available right now with leather bags that do not lock. The Chief Dark Hose has left production and it and the Vintage are pretty much the same except bags between those two.

My daily rider is the Chieftain and it has the three modes of rain, tour, and sport as well. I do actually find them more useful in adverse weather for sure since it takes the bite out of the throttle, however, 98% of the time or more I am in Sport mode because I like that quick action throttle response vs the other two lazy modes.

I don't like the look of the front fender at all. I also think the fringe is the dumbest thing ever put on a motorcycle. I can't believe a manufacturer actually did this. Also don't care for the way the handlebars lay down so low and have to come back so far for the rider. I don't think that riding modes are required on this type of bike either. Just give me sport mode and leave it at that. Now what do I like? I do like the solo seat. I think nothing looks better than a solo. I like that is doesn't have a heel shifter. I like that it doesn't have a windshield. I like that is has cast wheels. I like that it has cruise control. I like the lack of chrome. I like that it has dual discs on the front. I did go to Indians website and they have one with ape-hanger style bars which look so much better. If you did that and changed the front fender and cut off the fringe this bike would be a huge improvement.
