When coop says that the blaster might jam when the discs get wet, not trying to be mr. criticize, but the discs literally do not get wet. I have dunked them in bowls of water and for some weird reason they come out of the water dry.

The disc are made from a different material compare to normal elite darts, they are more flexible and more durable, that's why I like Vortex. :D

Vortex is unique and us oldies will like them as we can reminisce and the youngsters will think the discs are cool so its a win win for Hasbro. Ammo is expensive so not really war practical but loads of fun fun fun!

Hey coop! Did you know that if you tilt the vortex blaster, you can curve them

Personally a full auto LiPo modded vortex blaster would be extremely effective indoors since it can bounce around barriers. Even if it doesn't count, it's distracting, and gives the rest of your team (if you play in team VS team) an opportunity to flank and get the shots off. Or even better, if it counts when bouncing off walls, then you basically have something that can hit anyone at any time.

That thing looks darn accurate! Color me impressed! It is technically older technology and the rival series still surpasses it, but it does look like a great addition to those who are looking for accurate nerf blasters. :)

Yes! I loved the vortex line. I'm turning 15 this year so vortex was like the new nerf "hype" when I first got into nerf way back when. I'm just glad to seem them back and fully healthy, the zombie strike stuff was an awful waste of space in the universe.

SneakySword 280 I don't think they've re-released the Diatron from what I've heard. The Diatron is the side lever action shotgun with a 10+2 mag capacity which is the one I think your talking about. If I'm wrong please tell me because I really would love a new Diatron!

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I love vortex!!! I still have most of the vortex Blasters. It was hard to get them to bc I am 13 so around the time I started collecting they went out of production. But I worked to get them bc they so great

The little peg spring also allows the gun to have 10 + 1 with standard clips. It allows the max of 10 shots to slide down a bit more for the chamber.

I love the pyragon! I usually keep it as a secondary and when I need to just make a wall of vortex discs, I usually don't even aim. It is really good for that. I'm so glad it is back and I hope they make more.

My brother had a vortex blaster back in the day. He liked it because of the flat trajectory and accuracy the discs had.

I haven’t watched a nerf video in three months and this caught my attention cause of vortex I NVR THHOUGH THEY WOULD COME BACK

I actually have one of these from the original run, I love it. Got it for the huge capacity and it always seemed really accurate to boot.

I remember the og vortex lineup from way back in the day... (and I remember I saved up all my money and bought the og pyragon) I'm not into nerf any more but this might be enough of a motivation to get back and enjoy some old memories

Let me tell you I felt like Deadshot shooting my friends by making the discs ricochet off walls to shoot them behind cover. These were really a lot of fun.

Feels good to have vortex back and, AMBIDEXTERIOUS DECO ON BLASTER FROM THE PAST!!

I only have the original Vortex pistol and was very pleased with it’s performance. I am so glad to see the Vortex line coming back out! By far my favorite nerf line.

4 years later and vortex is gone again. Such a shame, I would love to have a vortex blaster. Shooting disc's are so cool and crazy accurate. And since they have a lower velocity they can be shot at/by smaller kids. I shot my daughter with a stryfe from about 20 feet and she didn't like it

Bintell reg more accurate than darts. Less than rounds in my experience. I would tend to use the vortex in indoor play and the rivals outdoors since they hit harder.

I have an old vortex blaster, and I could never find disc refills in stores, so now I can get more discs!

I am glad Vortex is back. While I understand the limitations of the disc ammo, I think they are a ton of fun and a challenge to use. They are also the most robust ammo type and they last far longer than any other type of ammo. They also happen to be my children's favorite ammo type as well.

I had one of these years ago, sort of. Back when the vortex line was first introduced, I already had quite a few nerf blasters. So on a trip to toyrus, there was a mail in draw competition, one of the prizes of which was a vortex pyragon. Of course we entered and thought nothing of it, after all who wins these things? About a month later a big box arrived at our home and I'd won! White, red and black was a great colour scheme I thought. I gave the pyragon to my son and we had a blast! Later on a ship down the road closed down but during the closing sale there was a vortex nitron and I bought that for a great price (£25 if you're interested, when the new price was about £40-£45)

Comrade Baymax a huge advantage to vortex guns is being able to ricochet the disks around corners. I’ve hit people hiding in a doorway while I was in a hallway in front of them by shooting the wall opposite the doorway and ricocheting the disk into the doorway. Or also turning the blaster sideways and ricocheting it off the ground

i have an OG one of these that I got used when i was 4 and loved it. I still do i pulled it out and it is still an amazing gun. This might be just because of my nostalgia but I prefer these disc blasters over even the rival blasters

If they don't have a disk in them then a vortex blaster will not let you prime it.

they a r e primed, hence the danger. they're unbelievably complicated on the inside and once opened up, that spring is jacked back hard. its like disposing a bomb. just getting the things apart is complicated enough and every piece removed could smush your thumbnail via high velocity plastic. Forget fixing them. anyone who had fixed one without years of schooling for an engineering degree has my respect

They're not that hard to take apart and fix. The torsion spring is also behind a guard so that once the shell is open you can't accidentally hit your fingers with it unless you're trying to do so. Or if you don't want to take it apart you can cut up some cardboard and glue it together enough so that it depresses the locks allowing the blaster to fire.

I managed to break off the pump grip on my Revonix, found out it's held in by two meager screws, and they don't connect to both sides due to another part of the priming mechanism.

Hell yeah, new Vortex blasters! Recently, my Pyragon jammed and I haven’t been able to remove the stuck disk (disk release isn’t working, can’t pump it) so it’s neat to see new ones out since I don’t trust myself to fix it by disassembly and don’t know anybody that could help.

Ive got an original vortex and a bunch of disks and mags. Fantastic fun for indoors. Low velocity means no-one gets hurt at close range.

I like vortex because they are just as accuarate as rival and shoot just as far. Also the bullets are a lot easier to fond than rival rounds. Also like you said, for indoor wars they bounce off walls which is a big plus

Glad to see Vortex is back. I prefer Vortex for indoor battles; the lower velocity is safer at close ranges and bouncing discs off walls is fun.
