I got one and love it. They are a super bargain. I ordered one sight unseen after watching Jay Leno test drive one on his channel. The first mod you gotta do is replace the mufflers with performance ones. I got mine from TEC Parts. It shed 22 lbs. of weight and the sound now is awesome. I also got bar-end mirrors, solo seat with cowl, levers from TEC, and DNA performance intake. The exhaust and intake mods probably added 8 to maybe 10 HP. The hand levers from TEC are adjustable for reach and give a much feel and control.

@@ragimundvonwallat8961 S&S claims a 13% increase with their performance exhaust and intake for the GT650. Theirs are restricted to meet California standards. I figured my exhaust and intake from TEC (illegal in CA) would make it certainly be above S&S's figure.
For the price that is a great value and really good looking too!

For people who don't know: Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in the world. I like Honda but sometimes modern bikes are overcomplicated which makes them quite pricey.
Enfield is owning the game in the vfm department.
Got this baby this month. Gonna start touring now. It's head-turner for sure.
Had a Bullet 500 for two years before I had to sell it due to moving overseas. I'm back now and would love to get another Enfield!
Done test on RE GT last year, just beautiful smooth ride, lovely gears and the seating position was perfect. Still dreaming.

First time viewer here. Really enjoyed your take and delivery regarding the Conti 650. I'm on my second. My first was the 535 continental GT that I traded in my rather brilliant aprilia Shiver 750 for!!! Then came the Conti 650! and I had to have it. I have a little over 7000 miles on my 2019 and it's just so well balanced. She just does everything right. The saddle will break in nicely so just be a bit patient. Due to the design of the clip-ons, you can drop them lower by about two inches without disabling the fork assembly....it only takes a few minutes. If I hold to all posted speed limits I have seen 90 mpg. Remember...she likes 91 oct! Just sayin'....she'll love you for it. I average around 65mpg!!! (Speed limit....what speed limit) Mid range pull is amazing. Throttle response is...as if it were hard wired to my brain. The thing is just so well sorted. I smile more on the Enfield than I did on my very first bike. I sound like a commerical but it really is that good and at the price........just go ride the bike. ......and be ready to have folk coming up to you asking if I restored the bike youself lolol I love telling them mines a 2019. People smile at you. Super sports stop to talk and Harley riders always give the salute. PSS......Harris performance UK, are frame design gods. The bike has everything you really want, and nothing you dont need! It really is pure motorcycling. ....enjoy. Atgatt!
wow :) I had a 1972 350 RE standard with Iron casing engine and opposite gear and breaks. Then owned a Royal Enfield Classic 500 CC and now after watching this I have planned for GT 650. You have to ride them on Hills and elevations as well. Love their performance on Hilly Terrains. Did quite some Himalayas roads on these. Pretty awesome :) Keep it up !!

Good review. I love the looks of the RE, and even though they have been around forever, there’s an undeniable appeal. I understand the Triumph Thruxton is a much more powerful bike, but I can’t see spending 3X the cost of the GT 650. I would be just as happy with the GT as I would with the Triumph.

If possible a review of a Z900RS Cafe or Z900RS would be great too.
To those new to the channel, Bill means what he says when he says Cali Moto TV are active in the comments section (actually I don’t think he mentioned that in this video). Sorry, this is going to be a long comment. Like I said in the Moto Guzzi V7 Racer video, had either of these bikes been around when I, as a returning biker, bought my R nineT Racer, either would have been a more sensible choice - I’m so happy I didn’t have to make that choice. Forty years ago my brother bought a 1965 Royal Enfield 250 Continental GT, it was very competitive with my 1980 Honda 250RS, also single cylinder but with 4 valves. Royal Enfield made some nice bikes before closing in England in 1970. The Indian company is completely different and started to make 350 Bullets in 1955 from tooling supplied from the British company. For many years the Bullet was their only product, isolated from the outside world in the protected Indian market but at the same perfectly suited to it. It’s true to say Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle “brand” in continuous production, since 1901. Royal Enfield are now thoroughly modern with great heritage and value for money. They now have a UK design centre, where I believe the 650’s were designed. If you don’t already watch her, check out Itchy Boots on KZread, the worlds most famous Himalayan rider. If you are still with me, Bill, my Racer had zero static sag so I am interested in how many mm (or inches) you have your rear suspension adjusted to? I appreciate I am a bit lighter than you so I will bear that in mind. Thanks!

Yea, RE has lots of cool military and racing history. I had always thought Harley was the oldest bike manufacturer being founded in 1903, but RE beat them by two years. I also thought that the Sportster was the oldest motorcycle model in production (began in 1957), but nope it was the RE Bullet from the 1930s. RE finally discontinued the single just in March. Love my Continental --- I actually sold my old Sportster to get the money to buy it!
I have the Interceptor 650 (same base), fantastic bike !
No words I love RE
Thanks bro great describe...😃👍👌

Royal Enfield’s are great Man I personally own a new Himalayan 2020 BS-6 but was planning to buy an old CONTINENTAL GT650 2019 for same price Used - Man These have such a Great Petrol Fuel Economy! Like 30Km/L is such a great mileage
Love from India 🇮🇳 I'm also a RE rider
This is nice bike buddy.
I know the INT 650 is the same bike but with handlebars and the foot pegs are a little further forward, but I'd like you to take one of them for a spin and tell us what you think of it. When Royal Enfield releases the 350 Meteor in the states I'd also like you to take one of them out for a spin. Thanks for the video and your opinion.
RE may bring the navigation system which they introduced in their new meteor 350 moyorcycles this December.
Wow nice motor bike very much i like
I had a GT Continental in 70s best gear box on any bike I've ever rode . Only 4 cogs but lite as feather, as for gear indicators never understood that, i dont need to look at my cars gear stick to stir the pudding.
I own RE Clasic Redditch Red. I was about buy this one but then I changed my mind. Now I am waiting for RE Himalayan 650 or RE KX Bobber 800 whichever comes first. RE is something which gives you true bike riding experience. Nothing fancy shit, not like other bikes which whill stop if there is one electrical failure. In RE everything will fail but engine will keep running and it will make sure that you reach to your destination.

seems funny how you talk about the Enfield being a bare bones bike compared to others of today, but I would remind you that if you had been on a true '60's Enfield cafe racer in that time you would not have had halogen lighting, Oil cooling, ABS, electric starter, fuel injection and dual spark, and maybe not even flashers on the earlier ones as standard and this is is important it would have been Drum brakes front and rear... .you have been so spoiled with the latest Interceptor compared to the original deal.... but we still did the ton up in those days on them. I have memories of getting shocked from the HD leads in the wet where it shorted to my Knee taking a lowdown bend in the rain as i hung over to get around. The current Enfield is pure luxury compared the originals and the seating was not even a thought... it was always how fast could we do it , one cafe to the next. Stay safe and thanks for the good review and just suck up the rear end seat massage as a bonus.
It has the best refined engine.. best so far.. but I would strongly recommend RE bullet. Feel that thump.. people in India are like they kinda have zing for this thump. #its Royal Enfield #Love from India.
