What a lovely accident regarding the wine cooler! That will be a nice addition to the kitchen. Now that the awkward cupboard is covered over, please consider placing the fridge there where you mentioned putting a dresser. That would give that end of the room balance with the two modern appliances to either side of the doorway. The dresser could go where the fridge is now and still leave a space between the other two windows for another interesting piece.

As an American I am fascinated by how you solve building and construction problems. I think I would have built a carcass out of plywood and used oak boards to make facing. Using flat packed composite boards for the carcass and oak for the doors blows my mind.

Yes watching from 🇨🇦 with a son being a cabinetmaker and hubby that has built everything from our house to 3 kitchens and a oak china cabinet (he even did leaded glass doors for it) we found the German made carcasses odd choice of material when Billy also ordered oak doors and drawer fronts to them from Paddy…

Billy, most people like to congregate in a kitchen, they like to sit down at a table, have a coffee or a bowl of soup, and talk... Have you thought of such a cosy place (corner) in your big kitchen?

I used to help lay out radar system upgrades. When the engineers thought I would not hinder their genius, I would be allowed in. My first comment was always something like: right, let's make this look like we meant to do it this way. Billy reminds me of those engineers--except that he smiles more.

Everything's coming together very nicely. However I think the kitchen sinks should be in front of the windows. Remember Billy what you said about the build-in that it look off or out place and you did the right thing by covering it up with the drywall. So please think about the kitchen sinks because they look out of place. Thank you for such an interesting channel you got me hook. Best wishes from The Bronx, NYC.

What is the final goal of the renovation? A hotel? Conference center? Residence? Event venue? If you plan on using it as a place for more than a few people, you might one day be putting in that second dishwasher, another sink, another fridge and freezer. Only time will tell... but I think the size of the kitchen is proportionate to the capacity of the whole building. Love what you've done with the place!

A small round dining table and chairs in the corner where the cabinet use to be would like nice and give people a place to gather for coffee and snacks.

It was wonderful to get to see the workshop and a bit of the carpentry process. It really gives you a better appreciation of the hard work and attention to detail that is put into each individual piece. I have to admit that I am suffering a severe case of kitchen envy. I would kill to have a space even half the size of the convent kitchen!
