We seriously cannot BELIEVE we just spent the last few days chipping ICE out of the lake so we could access our waterlines...you seriously cannot make this up! 🤣 As frustrating and unbelievable as it was, it felt incredibly empowering that we were not only able to troubleshoot the issue, but we we tackled it as a family! I’m going to make comments for the butt hurt folks. I can’t seem to get past the “gay/too gay”. I got a question. Is their a quota or a ratio of gay wet are suppose to be? I been gay a long ass time and I’ve read the handbook. Ain’t s*** in there about it.

Last episode T & T spoke about haters who are not impressed now that they are no longer working their asses off on the land. Honestly I am more invested in this new content as I find it more relatable. I wish them nothing but luck and look forward to this new chapter in their lives and feel lucky to be able to witness it.

Look on the bright side. If You both were still working regular jobs... I would compare the haters to people you have to work with day after day after day. At least being online you can ignore them and still be fine. I am sure with so many subscribers the haters are a very small portion of your audience.

I started following your KZread channel because I thought the idea of living off grid is really cool. I continued watching because I really enjoyed watching the two of you, regardless of what you are doing. The podcast allows your viewers to learn more about the two of you. The two of you are what makes both your KZread and podcasts worth watching. Keep doing what makes the two of you happy and don’t worry about the haters. BTW, We live in Maine and feel your pain with frozen water lines and backed up septic systems. Been there, done that.

I said something similar on Instagram...We are here for Ty and Todd NOT their "business sense' A band I dearly LOVE just had an episode of doxxing and really scary stuff from a 'fan' who got things twisted in their parasocial relationship. People have had the audacity to be ANGRY at the guys for making the moves they have and I find it absolutely disgusting how ppl will talk to another human online coming from some false sense of entitlement to be able to tell someone what to do. Anyhow, I am excited for the up coming plans!

I started watching them (Foxes Afloat ) from day one! And LOVED all the knowledge and history I learned from them! They are also the cutest sweet guys. And talking about depression on top of all of that takes guts to put out there in the universe! I just KNOW that they have helped many people who also struggle with the same issues. I loved watching their new boat being built , it was so cool to watch them have it put in the water. ( although I was a nervous mess, like sit on the edge of my seat! ) And now, we are STILL learning, along with them, about their new surroundings and the history. AND the grass fire made my eyes leak heavily. But they were blessed to making it through. I also love the honey bees. ANYWAY…..so sorry for the novel. My point is don’t judge! I enjoy both channels ! As an American , wayyyyy down south, they are a breath of fresh air to me with all that is going on in the world. They all 4 take my mind to “Far Away Lands” and I love it all! ❤

Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. Don't change a thing, I'm 60 my husband is 51 and we totally enjoy your videos. At times I'm just so jealous as I'm in the sundown phase of life and your just starting the climb. Again you two are wonderful.

A grandmother here - I love how genuine you both are. Glad you have the cabin to reset and relax. Sorry about the water pipes. Two of the homes we lived in had a similar water freezing problem, and we had to run a tiny stream of water at night to keep the water from freezing. It was our only option at the time. I live in a condo and now you guys are living in a cabin. For the number of times the power and the plumbing has gone out, I feel like I'm living off grid. Welcome to my world, LOL!

A couple of months before I retired a stranger gave me the best advice: take six months to relax and say “no” to everything. It takes time to adjust to not having things that have to be done at a certain time. It also takes awhile to fill those slots with what is enjoyable. As Tyler said, “every day is an adventure.” You two are so mentally healthy, balance each other so well, it’s a joy to listen to you on the podcast or watch the videos. My only problem with the podcasts being from the cabin…Squirrel doesn’t explore around in the background, or walk across the couch back. Love the tangent on the curated videos! Agree completely.

I found you guys because of the “off the grid” content, which is so completely unlike my current lifestyle or any lifestyle I would choose for myself that I don’t understand my fascination with it! 🤷‍♀️. Anyway, the point I intended to make was that, despite how I first started watching your channel, at this point I just love you guys so much I would probably watch your channel even if you moved to a big city! What strikes me the most about this episode is how much the two of you have learned in the last 5+ years. You've learned about RV living, geodesic dome life, electrical, plumbing, solar, gardening, building your own shipping container home and all that goes into that (both good and challenging) and now the lake life. We see that it can get overwhelming for you but you always come out on top and laugh together all the way! Great job!

I absolutely agree with Tylor in as “if I never see a snowflake again, I will be so happy”. That is why my husband and I moved to Mexico last May. We don’t ever plan to move back to Canada. We love it here in Mexico. Best decision we ever made!! Good luck with your homestead you two. You’ll work it out one way or another. Thank you for your videos. We really enjoy them. 😊❤️

I can honestly say I don't care where y'all are the land or lake house or rv I'm just here for y'all and the dogs because I just simply love your personalities y'all are hilarious. I don't understand why everyone is so mad about you not being on the land anymore, your technically still on land and can still do alot of those old projects on this land. Folks act like they don't move and start over it's not that serious to be this mad over too human beings just trying to live and make their lives stress-free

I’m in VT so totally get the cold! In a past house had septic freeze and backup INTO the cellar on Christmas 🤢 And one summer having to bath in a pond for a month while still working full time as a nurse. These things can push you right to the edge! Hang in there, you both are so resilient and I love your stories. You are awesome just the way you are and whatever way you need to do things is perfect for you. Screw the haters. You two make me laugh so much! I hope this break from the land project refreshes you and you can get back to your dream. I think knowing you always have your lake home will bring a new perspective when you are working there. It’s a good thing you are both taking good care of your mental health and are self-aware. Keep being who you are because it’s what has gotten you where you are. I’m lost in admiration at how you guys cope with the winter conditions there! We are a bunch of wimps here in the UK - everybody is freaked out at the moment with temperatures in the low minuses and, with the exception of Scotland and northern England, a light smattering of snow! I get what you're saying. I lived in the States for 13 years... Virginia. I know exactly what you mean. I keep up with the news and listen to it every day and am saddened and angry by what I hear as well. We in Canada pray for our brothers & sisters in the states that things will settle down and there won't be a mad rush from the states to Canada if the inevitable happens, hopefully all will be well.

I have watched you for several years because you are real...you are not fake, not trying to prove anything to anyone. I enjoy watching you conqueror the disasters and celebrate the victories. You inspire many of us to just take life as it comes and all you can do is enjoy, and make the best of it. I look forward to watching you make a home out of both of your properties. I do miss seeing you at the land, however I have enjoyed what you are doing with this new home. Keep smiling. It is about the journey, not the destination.

I come from a very cold country, and THAT'S why I never could understand how on Earth could you live the way you did. I thought that probably men handle cold differently or that you are just generally very strong physically and mentally. (which is obviously true, even if you do not feel like this). And now that you have told this out loud - OMG, guys! I am so happy that you have more comfort here!

I absolutely adore you guys and have been following you since I first heard you on a pod cast with Eamon and Bec a few years back. I was thrilled to see you were adding a pod cast along with your KZread videos on Sunday so now Wednesday’s have become another favorite day with Tyler and Todd. I am 78 so i have learned some things. The best ever thing I learned is people project their feelings and beliefs on others. It has nothing to do with you guys but is all about them and you figured it out. Congratulations! Great job!!!!!! Always set emotional boundaries to protect yourselves. You are the most important! Keep going love you guys. One reason as a single woman I rented for years was I didn’t want to deal with the maintenance! Someone gave me a home when I came back to my hometown. It was next to my Mom so I could care for her. So now I have maintenance but I sold my Mom’s home to a great guy who renovates homes and resells. He has all the skills so he helps maintain my home for me at no charge. You guys are amazing!

You both are great teachers, not only of the challenges from taking up an off grid life style, but sharing the mental and emotional pressure that comes with learning as you go. You both are wise beyond your years, in taking an honest inventory of what you needed to do to get through the winter and get ready for the next stages of problem solving that are before you in completing the container house, besides discovering the quirks of the cabin. I loved this whole tangent episode! You two are such positive role models!!!! I spent 25 years in the US Amy, about 6 years deployed. This video reminded me of my last 15 month deployment. I found silver lining every day while deployed, and most certainly experience silver linings everyday since. I’m not in a 120 degree Fahrenheit desert, wearing 60 lbs of gear, and I, (mostly) sleeping at home in my own bed. So much to be thankful for every day. Thanks for this reminder.

Anyone that doesn’t live in the north and deal with winter really should come up when it’s -20 with windchills of -50 !!! They might quickly change their negative attitudes and be impressed with the two of you. These past few days in Minnesota- my dogs wouldn’t even go out. Finally it’s 5 degrees out and sunny and we thought it was a heat wave. Love watching you in my heated house with a warm blanket on and a cup of hot coffee☕️

You mentioned people not knowing who you are in future and I just had to share that while at Darcy and Jer show in Portland last weekend the 10 or so people I sat next to all shared how we found them. Mine was you guys, 5 of them all started following you guys after that conversation. I in turn started following 3 others on how they had found Darcy and Jer. It’s those organic in person experiences that will keep you relevant because some of us do look for genuine vs curated. Tangent of my own, my cat Clawd is in love with Squirell and my 6 year old asks every Sunday afternoon if it’s time to watch you guys.

I very much enjoy your videos, be them travelling, adventures in self sustainability, life crises, funny animal moments, juicy stories, or decorating your spaces. I grew up living “off the land” in rural NS until I was 15 (now in my late 40’s,) No power, no telephone (until I was 8), no internet. We had an outhouse, wood stoves, indoor gravity fed water from a dug well, propane cook stove, kerosene lamps, a monthly bookmobile service near by, gardens and preserved food, goats for milk, chickens for eggs, etc. It was simple, but hard work. And boy did I get picked on for it at public school! I like that I have the skills that would allow me to live like that again, but am hoping to never have to use them! While I still live pretty rurally, I like my modern house with power, drilled well, full septic, wired in generator, fibre op internet, good cell reception, heat pumps and heated floors, etc etc. Living without all the extras is much easier when you have never had them. Once you get used to things that make your life easier, it is harder not to have those things. I will say though, the more systems and links to the outside your home has, the more things there are to go wrong!

Well you guys are great. I love listening to the random chat on a Wednesday it makes my week look so forward to it, if folk don't like it tough find something else to do. I have watched the highs and lows of you living on the land and I don't know how you did it honestly it would have broke most people. Sometimes you have to admit you can't do it anymore and you don't have to explain that to anyone. You take care love you guys loads. ❤

I can so relate to your struggles. I live in the country. I recently had water well issues. I know exactly how you feel. It would have been super helpful for the previous owners to leave a little manual giving you a heads up, but, oh, well. You are doing a great job rolling with the surprise leaks and freezes. Troubleshoot now to see what could go wrong this summer...lol. Kidding/not kidding. I don't get the haters either. If they don't have anything nice or encouraging to say, keep on scrolling. And, btw, I use Earth Breeze, too. I bought a year's supply last year when they had a special.

24/7 365 at the land was stressful. Not just living there but developing and intense labor building there! Years with an out house! You have ptsd post traumatic STRESS disorder. The emotions that rise when the lights are left on or the frozen pipe "melt down" It will get better over time ♡ the dome should be 3 seasons and the container home 4 seasons... You kids look so good♡ Your eyes look great♡ Rest hibernate and recover♡ You are wonderful just how you are! Thank you for taking us on your journey❤
