    Haha, from portugal here, we do like our bathrooms covered in *"carrelage céramique".* All the walls and floor, from the bottom all the way to the ceiling, completely covered in azulejos - both in the toilet and the bathroom/shower. There are exceptions, of course, most commonly in very old bathrooms or very recent ones. I like it a lot, feels very clean (as in hygienic) and handles water and humidity wonderfully. But it would look completely out of place in your Chateau.

    I did wonder if you could make a tile+grout toilet or sink? Or is it not that watertight? Have you ever seen that in your tile-loving country?

  • @gabrielaribeiro6155

    @gabrielaribeiro6155

    9 күн бұрын

    @@samaraisnt if you mean the toilet itself, I've never seen it, it's always a full ceramic piece. Tile is great for wall and floor surfaces, but I would not feel comfortable sitting in a toilet with grout, that material is too porous for that. I have seen a couple sinks made in tile in commercial spaces, but it's really very rare - as with the toilet, it's usually a full ceramic piece (the maintenance is easier). Ceramic table tops are also not a thing. Although we are known for ceramic tiles, they are traditionally confined to very specific uses - building's facades, kitchen and bathroom walls, floors, pools and ponds/fountains. Oh, and the blue and white ceramic tiles mentioned in the video are usually only seen in older/traditional buildings (houses, churches, palaces). These days people mainly go for monochromatic tiles or ceramic tiles that imitate stone.

The problem with it is after a few years of splashing water on it when you wash your hands or face is the bottom of the mirror turns black on the underside and looks bad. Philip the gardener 😊 Beautiful well house garden. I would put in a couple dozen pansies to add colour for Easter until the geraniums and roses start blooming. I had not noticed the thatched roof before. Beautiful! That bathroom is going to be fantastic. I glimpsed a blooming cherry down the road from the drone footage. Spring has sprung 🪻🌹🌷

    Philipp, you do a wonderful job with the grounds. Everything is so neat and trimmed, edged and I love how edged your lawn is where it meets the driveway.. The doors are stunning! Wow, they do such beautiful carpentry and as an added plus they bring laughter and good sense of humor to the job site!! Your suite is going to be very grand!! xx

    The coffee bit with Benoit in the window was hilarious. Every day at 11AM, the landscapers and I have coffee. If we don't, inevitably something bad happens in the afternoon. So it is coffee at 11AM or else.

    Wow! Benoit blew it out of the ballpark!! Those doors are an amazing piece of artwork! Great design you all! Lots of hard work going on around there! Thanks for sharing! The well house look fabulous too! (Missouri)

    As always -- just such fine and gentle humour along with real work. The great moment was the tragic scene of Philip, banished, alone with the dog, opera appropriately enhancing the miserable mood. We wept.
