James Martin, S.J., is a Jesuit priest, editor at large of America magazine and author of many books, including The New York Times
bestseller Jesus: A Pilgrimage (HarperCollins Publishers, 2016). He is a frequent commentator on religion in the media and has written for many venues, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He recently served as a consultant to Martin Scorsese’s film “Silence.” Fr. Martin holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) and a Master
of Theology (Th.M.) from Weston Jesuit School of Theology, now Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. Fr. Martin has appeared in such diverse outlets as The Colbert Report, Fresh Air,
The O’Reilly Factor, NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe and Vatican Radio.
