Yes Maya, you definitely look like your Mom now. Saga is adorable! As a very fair daughter with a brown mother AND sister I fully get how you felt growing up/feel sometimes with Saga. Although you'd think by now people would realize that you can look different from your parent and therefore NOT make comments or assumptions 🙄 🙄 🙄

I'm sorry Maya but I have never in my entire life ever heard that the white gene was dominant. The black gene is the most dominant beautiful one in the world! The majority of mixed-race children that have a black parent come out brown like you. Your daughter looks the way she does because you, yourself are of mixed race and her father is white.... not because his genes are more dominant. Saying that, she could have easily come out looking like your father, it just so happens that she did not. I know many families that have extremely fair-skinned children and very brown children. Saga is very adorable and she would be just as adorable if she was very brown. Happy Holidays to you and your family. I never comment but I was just floored when I heard you say that!

I know it's not uncommon to have the same dynamic carry, so it's so nice to see you and your mama be able to share the experience of your children looking different than you, like me and my mom have experienced as well. My sons also take after their father, and I've made comments about having mixed feelings being in public. I have a 3 1/2, & 2 1/2 yr old and often when they have tantrums when it's just me and them I get nervous people are going to not know I'm their mama. I've always said I look more like the nanny, but maybe one day I'll be able to shake that feeling like my mom and your mom have seemed to do. Or at leadt feel more comfortable with it. I LOVE Lola, and thank you for sharing a glimpse of your time together. My mom lives with myself, my boys, and my partner and I felt that to the core when you ended with iykyk 😂

As I live in Germany I usually get to watch your newest upload before I go to sleep. But my toddler and pregnant body decided to wake me up at 5 AM, just to get another treat from you guys before breakfast 😍😍 Love the vlogs, so excited every day to see what you guys are up to. Also I loved the talks on having a kid that doesn’t look much like you, because same. I’m Turkish/American (black)my children’s father is Greek/American (black), we both are a bit lighter than Maya, but also with dark eyes and super curly (me almost kinky) hair. Our daughter was born the same, exce she had straight black hair. Just to develop Olive green eyes like Saga, light brown loose curled hair and a very light olive skin tone. She is definetly white passing (or at least south European) you can barely even tell that both of her parents have black in them 😂

You ladies look so much like each other!😊 your Philippino genes are 💪🏼 strong.

This is taking me down memory lane. I have been traveling with my son around the U.S. and Europe since he was 6months old. He is 12 years old now. He is the best travel buddy and has a talent for navigating cities. I can empathize with Maya on looking different from your child. I thought people would think I’m the nanny as well because my son was very fair as a baby and toddler and has straight reddish brown hair. Whether in the U.S. or Europe we still get double takes. It’s kind of entertaining now. Thank you so much for sharing 🩵

Now everyone wants to have an insta home; beautiful, unrealistic homes that requires too much maintenance....nice to see a real home. Nothing to apologize about. Its interesting that you had the skin color conversation with your mother. My mother is really, really light English while my father was Italian ancestry with black hair and brown skin. I was asking my mother similar questions about how the extended family felt about her and my father recently, and its interesting that she kind of answered like your mother, (hesitantly).
