I remember seeing that on my friend's TV and telling myself we've reached the peak and graphics are never going to look more real. I was amazed by the water graphics on it and that was my first time seeing anything 3D besides something like Star Fox on a console.

Saw the title and knew FFX was coming. My all time favorite Final Fantasy Another great video man!

California Games was a classic from my childhood. I couldn’t afford a console back then but looking over someone’s shoulder it looked amazing.

Sonic Adventure starts on the beach, Virtua Fighter games have beach zones, Shenmue too, only thing Dreamcast needs is Outrun.)

I've been absolutely obsessed with the summer vibes of FFX and Chrono Cross, and now I am kinda interested in trying out Crazy Taxi since I never actually tied it.

Crazy Taxi is one of those games where you can pick up and play it for 5 minutes, and it also is EVERYWHERE, on Steam, PSN, XBLA, but Crazy Taxi 2 does need an emulator.

These are great picks! The game (more like the stage) that always reminds me of summer is Dire, Dire Docks in SM64. That incredible theme along with the whole stage being set in water just gives me those summer time vibes.

6:04 The taxis have different stats. Axel's has all-average stats, B.D.Joe's has great top speed, but poor handling. Gena's has great acceleration, but not-so-good handling. Gus' has poor top speed, but makes up for having excellent handling.

Nothing like a Boat Racing of PS1 games like HYDRO THUNDER and RAPID RACER. Just the Tech Demo of Manta playing in the background is a good Summer Vibe. Tekken 3 Beach Ball. Total Overdose is a summer time in Mexico. Hell i had a great Vacation in Resident Evil 4 - that is Remake - in PSVR2. back to track, I have this good feeling when I remember Populous 3 on PC, Each time my dad would bring another Sims 1 Expansion was celebration. Heroes of Might & Magic 3 was great every summer. Jagged Alliance 2 is the best game ever made in the history of the universe, and that too is a great vacation in Central America's fictional country. Stronghold: Crusader was a great summer game to hide from the heat outside. Hell, having a gaming magazine is really enough to have a great summer sometimes. there's a lot more games i could remember but I'll it here for now. Edit: oh yeah Serious Sam: The Second Encounter was a fantastic summer time and also Diablo 2 was great, even though some of the environments don't fit that much. a lot of time was spent in a video game called Hotel Giant, to meticulously build a hotel but past that me and my friend didn't know how to start the game. My friend and his mom made a fantastic hotel.

Ones you missed, hmm... people remember Sonic Adventure, but also Sonic racing always has beach levels (Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing and sequel, Transformed, are good), Crash Bandicoot has N. Sanity Beach and overall mood of hanging around Australia in beachwear, so does Mario Kart so kart racers in general fit the mood of "summer games".

FFX is a great recommendation. I'd also recommend X-2. Even though X-2 is, of course, nowhere near as good, it's a fun lighthearted follow up that captures the carefree nature of summer as well.

It feels strange that I got Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 but the price was higher. It never came out to the west due to cultural differences but it had more characters to play as. I will be playing it more at the summer and it’s available not just on PlayStation (PS4, Vita) but also on a Nintendo console too (Switch).

I'm sorry, but starting from May the 4th, it's Star Wars month, so I'll be playing the KOTOR games again for like the 10th time now, lol. But from June onwards, I sure will replay GTA Vice City and Final Fantasy X too. And some other games that I consider summer games would be Far Cry 1, Far Cry 3, Dead Island Riptide and Crysis 1. I mean come on, the most iconic thing about those games is their tropical island setting. GTA San Andreas and GTA V are also kinda summer themed, but not as strongly as Vice City though.

You mentioned GTA Vice City having "offensive" humor as it was "before cancel culture", but the very next GTA San Andreas was heavily canceled by conservatives because of Hot Coffee mod, it was one of the biggest scandals in gaming period, forcing the devs to patch it to block mods and avoid getting Adult Only rating... also how is GTA humor offensive? It's just ordinary satire.

It doesn’t have a lot of fluff, but every bit is so deep and gets the wonders of gaming (and really life) across wonderful.
