This is part of our full build log for the 1701-E. This is the 1:1400 scale model kit released first by AMT when Star Trek first contact came out.
In this video we unbox the kit and look at the parts, including two of the inaccuracies. in the kit.

Might have to trench out those pylons to get hour wires to fit. Can't wait to see your build!

I just did that yesterday, even using magnet wire it needed some work to get them to fit
I plan to do this one in an all white First Contact scheme and one in a two-tone gray scheme for Nemesis.
Is it possible the design of this kit more closely matches original design sketches, or even a ship from a movie other than First Contact? I was reading an article about the differences in the models for the E (Nemesis for example used a CGI model), and in a few shots the E in Nemesis doesn't appear to have the flattened out nacelle pylons like the studio model, and the deflector valley is different compared to First Contact.
is 19 inches from saucer to shuttle bay at the end of the ship or to the end of the nacelles ?
