You got lots of work, that you still have to do. You're probably not getting chow! So dry your eyes, try not to hate your life. You raised your hand, you volunteered, it is your fault that you are here, that you are here.

    @@BeaHall Actually, all Veterans should salute, even out of uniform, but I remember, this one time, when I was in AIT, we were mowing the lawn right before Gate 1 at Jackson, near the statue, there was about 20 of us, the DS formed us up and called us to attention, and we all know, people who are driving aren't actually going to stop and get out of their vehicle, well, one guy actually did, stopping everyone else behind him, but they all got out, and the guy who stopped in front, well, he got out and saluted with his LEFT HAND....LMFAO, even the DS laughed about that one.

  • @ProfessorPWNAGE1
    @ProfessorPWNAGE13 жыл бұрын

    Imagine how many men and women heard this? It plays everyday, what you are hearing is what millions of soldiers heard as well. I’ll always look back at basic training as one of the best times in my life. Some of those days sucked more than a swarm of leeches but I really can only recall the good times. The one team one fight and sucking the suck as a company. Doing those cadences that I miss terribly. So many people can’t stand doing them and it’s like the soul of the army for me. When DS has a good voice on top of it...it’s music to my ears. A lot of people won’t know what we went through and had to deal with in training. It’s crazy to think so few have the privilege to go through that training. For anyone considering going through and serving and is nervous about it. I’ll give you some advice: Training: It’s about your mental strength. They will cut you down and wether you are right or wrong...it’s wrong or very wrong. Don’t let the harshness get to you. It’s all Part of that building a team mentality. Actions: When it comes to making a decision and you pick one. Stick with it, stand by your choice and follow through. Even if it was a bad choice be confident in your actions. If it was in the best interest for your battle, team, squad, platoon, company. Being confident in your decisions goes a long way. Be sure to support your actions with a statement. One team one fight. Study: know your stuff, be diligent with your time in training. Don’t slack off, the more you know the more confident you’ll be in your decisions and less likely to make a poor one. Wether on your own or in a team setting. Accountable: When you make a mistake own up to it and stand by it. Don’t blame others, don’t blame anything. Be accountable for your actions and part of that is correcting those mistakes in the future. Parts of what makes a great leader is that. Goals: dedicate your effort and time to your goals you want to fulfill. And lastly: Be at the right place, right time. (15minutes before the hit time) in the right uniform with the right items on your person and you will save yourself a lot of headache. Try to have fun with it because you’ll look back at it and miss it like most of us do. Be scared, because that’s part of the fun.

    Had this one 1SG that had a rule of no one being out saluting the flag. His reasoning was that you cannot leave until after 1700, anyone saluting was leaving before 1700. Well, we were standing by the door waiting and this one high speed, slick sleeve PFC looks at us and shakes his head and waltzes out the door and gives a crisp salute. We all knew what was going to happen next, but decided not to warn him because...well he was high speed. Anyway, 1SG comes bursting through and we all hear, "HEY THERE SHIT FOR BRAINS....COME HERE!" He's in the " I done fucked up," parade rest, we walk past and hear cadence. He is getting the shit smoked out of him. A solid 10 minutes later I drive by and he is doing flutter kicks in obvious pain. What a hero.

    I was in the AF for 20 years as a cop, and I had to do flag detail. When we did retreat, they played "retreat" on the giant voice, then the national anthem . It was many years before I knew the Army did it differently. Also in Germany, they played the German national anthem first, then the US anthem.

If you were by the door leading to outside a buddy would push you out, lock the door and look at you and laugh. It was all in fun though
