Last Post Ieper Ypres
Elke dag om 20 uur stipt, blazen de klaroeners van de Last Post Association de Last Post als eerbetoon voor alle slachtoffers in oorlogstijd.
Dit gebeurt onder de Menenpoort in Ieper.
Deze opname dateert van 2 april 2020. Tijdens de maatregelen tegen het coronavirus werd nog steeds dagelijks dit eerbetoon gehouden.

Every day at 20.00 sharp, the buglers of the Last Post Association sound the Last Post in homage to all the victims of war.
This takes place under the Menin Gate in Ypres.
This recording is from 2 April 2020. During the measures against the coronavirus this tribute was still held daily.

Chaque jour, à 20 heures précises, les clairons de l'Association du Last Post sonnent la Sonnerie aux morts en hommage à toutes les victimes de la guerre.
Elle se déroule sous la Porte de Menin à Ypres.
Cet enregistrement est à partir du 2 avril 2020. Pendant les mesures contre le coronavirus, cet hommage était encore rendu quotidiennement.

For the ones who never grew old
Wept as they played when i was there in April 2017. It was a deep feeling standing there. Was lucky to get a photo with that night's bugler.

Ben nu 68 jaar Gelukkig nooit een oorlog mee gemaakt, maar toen ik daar was en dit hoorden hield ik het ook niet droog. Zoveel ellende en voor wat?
I've been about 4 or 5 times to Ieper and I love the land, the beer and the people but especially the Brandweer buglers who have sounded the last post for over 100 years at Menenpoort. If I'm staying in Ieper I'll be there at 8pm.

Been in Normandy, Verdun, Margraten and here. But the images especially when there are no tourists brings tears to my eyes, for the devoution to those that have gave there life. #neverforget

GOSH. The memories. I was a bugler in the school marching band back in the seventies. That short bugle is difficult to blow clean. I preferred the long one and I could play "Taps " as well as any. 😊❤
pleased to see YPRES firemen are still carrying on this daily honoured tradition through the pandemic, i've been many times, to see my Grandads brothers name ISAAC SKELHORN Panel 37 11/11/1914 Zandvoorde area somewhere, thank you.

they wil have to keep doing so for about 400 years, by the end there wil no doubt be more unmarked graves and lost soldiers to remember

Oh, toch wel hoor. Op kalme dagen in de winter staan enkele honderden bezoekers. Op gewone dagen is dat zo'n 1000 bezoekers en op drukke dagen 2000 of zelfs meer. Deze beelden zijn inderdaad tijdens de lockdown in 2020 opgenomen.
