Good info. This chassis and form factor looks exactly like the Stryker SR-94hpc and the Anytone Apollo II 10 (and 11) meter radios.

Good little radio, had mine for over a year. Done this back then but a pain in the backside when scanning it takes an age. There was a couple of out of band (local airport) frequencies I wanted to listen to and was able to program them into the memory with Chirp bypassing having to change the continental modes.

I am thinking of getting one or two of these. I have an Anytone D-578, it was in the jeep, now in my shack. Being able to use it for MURS and GMRS makes it the perfect radio for local emergency comms. - the 779 or the RT95 would do the same job, and since I am not really doing Digital there is no reason to have the more expensive model.

I seen that! away at the bottom of their list on the Retevis radio models. I went and downloaded it for my delivery on tuesday.
I have tried that but i have the crt micron vox and the ch goes from 39 to 42 so theres no ch 43 mode.
Great info.

Thanks for the nice video. I see that mode 2 covers the Marine vhf frequencies (i.e., 156MHz - 158MHz). Does this mean that it will transmit on the Marine VHF frequencies?

@@TheSmokinApe but legal for emergency use! And to be honest, it would likely be the only time I would use the RT95 on a marine vhf channel. Thank you again.
I have the Anytone AT-778UV version of this radio and mine shipped from Amazon set in region 3. I put mine back to stay within my band limit. Also worth mentioning if you change the region as shown in the video it will nuke your stored memory channels. At least it did on mine.

Why on earth would you limit the bands! There are a lot of repeaters that use 442 - 444...
@jbrooks4282

@@Rusted_Link 420-450MHz is within the US region setting of the 778UV. You get the full US 70cm band. No clue where you got the idea I was limiting 70cm down to the lower portion.

@@jbrooks4282 because the radio only goes as high as 440 out of the box. As does the CS.
Hi Ape! Are those 3 modes the only ones available? It would be interesting to know if there is a mode that includes 446MHz (PMR-446 in the EU). Thanks for the video! 73, Jan (M7HNK)

For mobile 2/70 I use the Comet SBB-5 (fantastic antenna) and the Diamond 400 lip mount. Tram makes "decent" magnet mount antennas that a lot of folks use as well 👍
Nice video, but I wanted to take the opportunity to ask another question. My rt95 is with the power in UHF, fixed at 5w, however much you change the power levels the output is 5w. I tested the current at different power levels and it is stable in it. can anybody help me?

Good litle Radios For the money..my cousin has one & I have the Retevis RT-25 I Really Like having a volume knob appose to the software volume but Both have Pros & Cons that i am sure about ! But like i said mine is also open because i use GMRS & Listen to 2m & 70cm Bands a lot and for the money you just cant beat these little things ...I hear repeaters that are 180 Miles away from me Yes i said 180 Miles I don't know How but i Do don't Get me Wrong i Bought the Best Antenna i Could Find Comet GP 9NC & All Copper Coax That is Rated Better Than LMR-600 But as you may have Guessed I Spent more than a Fuw Bucks but like i said i wanted the Best i Could Find/Get ! I Bought So Called High Quality Coax from ebay & Amazon like 3-4 Different vendors & it was all Junk/Bad so i said piss on it an bought the best M&P Hyperflex 10 Sahara it is rated at 2.5db loss per 100ft I use 60ft an i use the Evo Connectors ..my point being if you are only getting 6-8 miles from your radio and antenna then you are doing something wrong is all !
