Tutorial | Manually Program an Anytone AT-778UV (Retevis RT-95 & CRT Micron)

In this video I show you how to manually program a repeater into the Anytone AT-778UV dual band radio. Requested by a few people, it can be a daunting task programming a repeater into any radio let alone doing it manually.
But I show you how to do it without the need for a programming cable/software.
If the video has been of some help, please leave a like below. I really appreciate it!

You need to change a setting on the Function menu Press “func” button, select option 1 “func menu” by pressing the rotary knob scroll down to option 3 “DSP” via the rotary knob and then press the rotary knob The characters on the right go green. Select “NM” then P3 “BACK” and “P3 EXT” the name should then be displayed

Excellent. Thank you. An American KZread chap said it couldn't be programmed from on the unit. That's a relief, if a little clunky. I will probably get the programming lead, but always prefer to do it directly. It seems a lot to remember, but I have digital music workstations. This should be a doddle. 😅

It has the CTC on the transmit, but it's still showing simplex when i transmit. Another example of it's not as easy as it seems. Also, I can not put a UHF frequency on A side, and it automatically does the split. I have to put VHF on A and UHF on B. In my 878, it is so easy to program. Why can't this radio be as easy

Very useful video 👍🏼 Do you know if there is any way of setting the RF Gain on these models? My Anytone version has some problems overloading with strong signals using the aerial on the roof of the house.

I'm so new to this & this might be a dumb question but are the channels the same no matter where u live? Or how do I find which is the right ones for transmission & receiving?

Hi Amanda, no question is dumb :) Depending on where you live, repeaters will change and a way to find your local repeater(s) would be to check out the RepeaterBook website, they also do an app for your mobile device. Search your area for 2 metre and 70 centimetre repeaters and you should find a few that will be heard. Now I must state and I presume you already know but, transmitting on this radio without a ham license on the amateur radio bands can land you in hot water. You could use it for PMR 446 (license free) but the problem with that is - the radio isn’t a legal standard PMR radio and pushes out far too much power for the PMR band. Just wouldn’t want anyone getting into any issues using these radios that’s all. Stay safe!

The programming software is awesome but , it is very advantageous to know how to do it manually on the fly ! In the event of emergency situations where a frequency might need to be installed ,it could mean the difference between life and death 💀

What repeater are you trying to program? I’ll have a look at my radio if I know the details I’ll give it a go see if I can replicate it.
