Restoring Leon's Jacket - Resident Evil 4 Remake (Schott B3 Bomber 1986)
Ойындар
Always wanted a flight jacket like Leon wears from the original Resident Evil 4? Well thanks to the 2023 Remake, you can get it in the form of the Schott B3 Bomber. If like me, the retail price was too high, go used. In this video I’ll be showing how to restore a leather jacket the right way to get something nearly as good for a fraction of the cost. You may even learn a thing or two along the way!

there is a thread on schottnyc dating a very similar jacket, meaning the tags and features match up. Especially it's missing "Schott" on the side buckles. This gives a clue to the manufacturing date. "GALE" from Schott said that with "Schott" missing on the buckle means it is manufactured either between 1981-1984 or 1986/1987

That sounds like a great find! Do you have a link to the thread? That information would tally with the more recent B3's I've seen from Schott and their embossed buckles.

@@EnemyStep youtube seems to remove my comments. You should be able to find the thread by searching for "Second hand B3 real or fake"

www.schottnyc.com/forum/posts/second_hand_b3_real_or_fake_2.htm Found it! Thanks to you, and of course "GAIL" 🙏. If what she says is true, then that means my jacket was in fact produced during the 1980's. I'm even more impressed with it's condition, and will wear it with a newfound respect. It's seen more life than I have!

@@EnemyStep the reason why I found the thread was because I myself have also acquired a schott b3 with also no schott on the buckle. what a coincidence huh us three, with the same schott b3 from the 1980s, some might call us schott bros hehe

How did it end smelling? Did it smell fresh when you were done, or were there any lingering odors?
In my opinion, it looks even better than new. It's got that rugged charm and a wicked texture that only comes from being well-loved and worn over time. Good job brother!

So the modified version does not look worn out🤦♀️ And this jacket looks better just because of the dark color

The thing with rugged fashion item, they look better when already beat up
I love how Leon barely wears this for an hour, yet it's so iconic that it's the look that everyone imagines when they think of Leon. (Well, either this or his RPD uniform, of course.) Also, this video is extremely relaxing.
I feel like this video should have 1 million views

Fuck no
I freaking love when people who knows their crafts shows us how things were done. The result is spectacular.
Leons iconic death sound killed me lmao
Came to see the jacket, stayed because the video was so entertaining! That restoration was very satisfying and your editing and commentary definitely helped make it all the more enjoyable. Hope the algorithm throws some more views your way, and I look forward to any future content - jacket related or not :)

This a solid video. I’m glad there’s someone giving the new Leon jacket some love, and letting players in on Schott

Glad you enjoyed it! Always been a fan of the full B3 jacket ever since I discovered flight jackets. It was the right choice for the remake, and Schott leather wear is 1st class.
Incredible restoration! Definitely gonna use this for not just Leon’s jacket but other leather jackets I own!
After using this tutorial to restore an old Schott B3 Bomber jacket, I am really glad to say everything work perfectly as shown here! Well worth the time and effort to restore one of these! Thank you so much for creating this tutorial!
This is embarrassingly underrated, amazing work man!
In my experience buying used clothes from Japan (especially on rakuten) the seller usually goes over items with a fine tooth comb like a museum curator. 2/5 will have regular wear but no damage; 3/5 is very lightly worn; 4/5 is essentially new and 5/5 is fit for a museum exhibit.
The jacket is awesome looking dude, it’s just amazing seeing it being restored like it’s fresh out of a box.
I've recently become more conscious about fast fashion and how lousy it is, and that the thought of "I'll buy this jacket, it should last me a winter, maybe even two" doesn't sound quite as nice as "This is my jacket, we've been through thick and thin for the past 10 years, I've taken care of it regularly and despite all the stories it could tell you, it's still reliable and keeps me warm". And this video here definitely pushed me more towards the latter. It's a craft that feels approachable and rewarding, like a meaningful project that you do over the course of a few days and the result is clothing that lasts and a sense of self-reliance. Cool video!
Just coming back after a year to say the jacket is still serving me extremely well! Was insane to see this video go from 4k views when I first bought my jacket to nearly 300k now! Really cool dude! My current girlfriend happens to be a big fan of Leon Kennedy (hasn't even played an RE game haha) and when I first showed her I had the jacket she went crazy. I also happen to already have a passing resemblence to Leon so I've always felt cool wearing it in general. It has also (more importantly) been there for me during the bitter british winters. Anyway, point is this is all thanks to you making the video a year ago now and I really appreciate that! I hope life has been treating you well since :)
Everything in this video, from the Monster Hunter joke and DMC music to the restoration itself was really amazing! Loved how you did the conditioning in sync with the music! Overall a really amazing, memorable video.

the note 'I hear no evil, I see no evil, I speak no evil' with the three little owls was a sweet little detail.
The brand-new jacket is what it looks like at the beginning of your mission. The used jacket is what it would look like after fighting through a village, castle, and military island full of parasites and monsters.
I own and wear pretty much 1:1 the same jacket during winter season. I really love it. Keeps you really warm even on frosty temperatures.
Awesome, on my wishlist for sure now. It this way might be more fun to be honest!

It's certainly fun, once you know what to do. Take your time and enjoy the process!
Came for the jacket, stayed for the restoration. Love your commentary and I hope you keep this stuff up, would love see more from you!
Really fun video! End result turned out great! Something poetic to be said about RE4 and this jacket both aging incredibly well.
13:55 That's a happy man right there!
Bro looks fresh as fuck in that jacket at the end god DAMN
Goddamn, that turns out alot better than I expected. And this is the first video of this channel, impressive. Hope you bring more of this kind of content. You used RE4, DMC and God Hand tracks? Now THAT is good taste.
Amazing restoration! I've always wanted one of those jackets, but never could afford one. Maybe I'll restore one, myself. Thanks for the awesome video! :)
such a good video! your commentary, your editing, the final product, the music, everything is so well done :D
I remember wanting to by jackets and stuff video game and movie/ tv characters wore. I really wanted Negans leather jacket at one point.
I love videos which take the premise of a game to do something different and interesting. This makes me motivated to do some maintenance work myself. Good job, mate!
Didn't expect the video to be this entertaining and I love the style of humor. Looks sick as hell in the end, great job!
This is the best video i have seen, the quality and attention to detail. The song choices, the nostalgia playing re4 on the gamecube, the step by step guide bringing this jacket back to life. 100 percent perfection. Subscribed. You absolute creative legend!
Amazing job, I'm really excited to see what you do throughout your channel!
11:33 That was amazingly synchronized.
This was therapeutic to watch. Your craft is so serene and soothing.
Only one video and I absolutely love your content. Excited for more videos!!
Editing was superb and your choice of soundtracks was amazing too.
I stumbled on this and I really think that the care that you've given it as well as a research is just awesome! I've been wanting to get my guy Leon jacket for a hot minute but all the reproductions are costly but not authentic looking. That is so awesome to know that you found the jacket though!
That drum segment had me goin for a minute
My dude, thank you so much for this video; first it was fun just seeing the restoration of the jacket, but also because this video legitimately helps me; I have a deer skin jacket similar to the sheepskin that I have no idea how to properly maintain, and this has shown me a lot on how to help keep it in good shape. Thank you for the video!

Glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful! If you care for your leather, it'll care for you 💪
Wait... so this is your first video? Dude, that's awesome! Great commentary, good transitions and a fine music choice, (own) memes and sound clips, humor, an interesting topic and actually useful information for leather working. I'm not gonna lie, you set the bar pretty high for the next video! :P Most people start in bronze or silver when playing ranked, but you seem to skip directly to gold!
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the whole video: the explanation, the passion, the gameplay! and great editing :)
It's astounding how good that jacket looks after some TLC. Looks better than new, even. To be honest, this video might have gotten me interested in buying an older leather jacket and restoring it myself. Cheers for that!
Great video I was really surprised to see this is your first one! Keep up the great work!
awesome video! that's a great looking jacket. i never really knew just how much care real leather really needed, so this was both fun and informative to watch! also, props for the God Hand music at 12:52
What a fantastic watch, very satisfying and soothing. I love your passion mate!
Very satisfying watch. Thank you for showing this
Always love seeing content like this; buying leather used and restoring it is one of the best things you can do! These things deserve decades of use and care. Beautiful jacket.
Great job, you put a lot of love into it and was rewarded beautifully
I was so excited to see your other videos, but it seems this is your first. well done, I can't wait for more :)
I absolutely love this type of content! Amazing job!
Jeez, this guy only has one vid on his channel, he feels like such a normal KZreadr, he doesn’t seem new at all, like he’s done it before. Damn.
What an excellent video, the memes and editing along with the impressive subject matter is top-tier YT content, strong start for a new channel, can’t wait for your next video, subbed!
Great video, man. Would love more cool videos like this. Learned few new things, which is great!
Flawless video! Love seeing some craftsmanship especially in the interest of saving money!
How is this your only video? This was made better than most of the people on this platform, I need more!
This was a great video, super informative and relaxing to boot!
These were much more affordable back in 2016 but as with everything, they went up. The Schott one from their website used to be about 1100 not long ago. Cockpit also makes one that is on par in quality but is also about the same price. Also thanks for this guide man I have 4 of these in my closet and really wanted to know how to properly care for them for a while.
We need more videos like this! Loved every minute.
You thinking of doing anymore videos? I don't expect you to focus your channel entirely on restoring well known video game leather clothes but you've cultuvated a vibe here which is very nice to watch. Yes or no, thanks for this, someday I'm gonna try to do something like this and I have your great video to thank!
I love your editing style, glad the algorithm showed me this lol
This video is very cool.

this is a heartwarming video u gained a new sub
great video! makes me realize i shouldn't view my clothes as something to throw on, but pieces with history behind them. the editing and music really amped up the vibes, i'm excited to see what you may have planned for future uploads
loved this video man. video was presented very well and i learned something new!
Oh man I'm glad I got randomly recommended this video. I know nothing about leather, only leather thing I own is my harley postals but this was a really good watch and made me consider buying used leather and restore it. The music choice was awesome as well. I love hearing God Hand OST out of nowhere. Cheers mate I need to step up my content game after watching this.
what an incredible video, went to like it and only then noticed it didnt have the 15k likes i though it would have! truly entertaining and throughly enjoyed it , good work 🙌
I loved this video. I hope you have future plans for more restoration pieces. Great work!
This is such a cool project. Amazing work!
4:26 Mr Owl looks like he's going, "What have you done!" 😂 Thanks for the vid!
This is awesome to see. Great work
Very good editing, nice job! Can't believe this is your first video.
Really nice video, good work on the leather!
This is great man keep it up
Great video man. I’ve also been into heritage leathers for years. I love the idea of taking inspiration from your favourite characters for your own personal style and it’s cool to see the devs acknowledging Schott as the OG for these shearling bombers
Not only is this entertaining, but also incredibly satisfying! 🤣🤣🤣 I am now jealous, and want this jacket now... Thank you. 😐👍👍
Gonna comment to help ya out with the algorithm. Very entertaining video though loved the worn look of the jacket!
This was really cool man, keep it up
wow you did an amazing job in this looks fantastic i'm so jelly!!
I really enjoyed this video! I like your style. Hope you upload more to your channel.
Great video, I really want to try this now.
Didn't know I needed this video, perfect!
That was incredible, now I want to give it a try!
As a lover of leather and shearling jackets, this video was excellent. Learned quite a bit about cleaning, treating and conditioning leather so it keeps its quality and texture. Amazing how it went from that worn and vintage camel colour to a deep and lustrous dark coco. Wicked stuff, glad this video found its way to me.
I'm excited for the future of this channel amazing work
I used your tips after receiving the coat and wow! It works!
2nd time watching this video since it came out and I just love how you edited the video, I'm exited to see what you do next on your channel
I loved this video! So informed. I think anyone could enjoy this!

Awesome job! End result looks even better than new!

Just want to say I really appreciate your cuts to the beat of the music. Also I really love this jacket and am looking for my own but I've only found a good used one for about $750 at the moment
Great video im excited to see what you create in the future :)

Dude Super clean restoration crazy good work brother 🔥🔥
Cool project, gonna have to try this!
Whoa. THis is your first video?! Great quality video! Subscribed!
So satisfying, and all the cleaning sounds like the brush was so good to my ears! This makes me wanna get a bomber jacket and get into restoring myself! This was so cool and great to see a fellow smaller creator get such success! Best luck!
Hello ES! I was greatly inspired by this video and had also went ahead to buy my own vintage Schott B-3 jacker after watching this video. Mine seems to be dated around the same time as yours and with this video I managed to restore mine to an amazing condition. Though I did experience my own set of hiccups like accidentally tearing the leather on the front right shoulder, I managed to repair it and made the tear near invisible. I wanted to leave this comment as thanks for documenting your process, I don't think I could've had it look as good as it is without you!
