Today we’re going to be restoring Apple’s cheapest iMac from 13 years ago. I originally got this in a large lot of old tech, cleaned it up and gave it to my partner a few years ago. Now, it’s time to restore it once more and sell it off for charity :) #apple #imac #restoration

Thanks for watching! Note: When I say this was the "cheapest iMac" Apple sold I'm not counting the slightly lower spec variant only sold to the educational market. If you wanted to buy a new iMac straight from Apple's website back in 2009, this was your cheapest option :)

In the States, that spider is known as a house spider or cellar spider, and "Daddy Long Legs" is reserved for the spider that's also called the "Harvestman". The cellar spider is very GOOD for your home, and the daddy long legs is completely harmless!

LOOOOL Turns out spiders like to use Macs for their WEB DEVELOPMENT. GMFU. good one sir.
These macs are pretty cool. I recently bought one in brand new condition, the last owner said he bought a computer in 2007 and used only once so it came with original box (the serial number matched), never used original: keyboard, mouse, cleaning cloth, remote, manuals books and cd instalation disc. He even gave me wireless magic keyboard 1 and wireless mouse with box and in perfect condition. Maybe someone can think that i overpaid for it paying 250usd but i live in contry that is pretty imposible to buy fully functional computer for less then 250usd.

i currently daily drive a mid 2007 24in iMac and it works amazing for its age.
I'm using this with Monterey :) This model is fully supported with Opencore Legacy Patcher and it runs perfectly fine.
Nice. I have a 9,1 that is still one of my daily drivers. I keep it in my kitchen for when I need to reference things, for recipes, and have my work O365 account on there so I can easily keep in touch with the office and such. It's the old iMac I have that's still a daily driver. I also love the fact it still has an optical drive. I have the Catalina patcher on it, and for what I use it for, I have no complaints. I also have Remote Desktop to jump into the two PCs I have on my network, and of course I can easily screen share with any of the other Macs I have on the network... which is also a cool way to get modern use out of the the older CRT iMacs and the eMac if you want a cool conversation piece ;)
I picked up the same Imac broken for like 5 bucks and turned it into a Display for my Windows PC and Im currently watching the video on it haha

I have this same year iMac that I use at home, if I want to upgrade the ramp, can I simply just pull the ram out swap it for a bigger ram or is there other steps I need to do? Also, if I upgrade the RAM, what are the benefits I assume it will run faster and be able to handle certain tasks better.
