The masons are not adding to the tower, they are just replacing the damaged bricks at the top. The tower is around 40ft tall. Thank you for your interest.

Great work you're doing! How high is the church tower going to be?

What was the cause for the residents of Jamestowne to leave and what caused the settlement to fall into ruin?

Oh I thought you were rebuilding the tower... What you gonna do with the rest of the bricks? Rebuild it fully elsewhere?

Whatever happened to the idea of rebuilding the entire top section of the tower, back to its original form, size, and like-new condition? You're already reconstructing using authentic bricks and mortar, so why not go that extra step, and put the tower back to like-new condition? Why only stabilize an archaeological ruin? If the current condition and stability of the tower walls will permit it, why stop halfway? Why not complete the job? (I'm a direct descendant of several "Ancient Planter" Jamestown Colonists, so I feel I have some grounds for asking this.)
