    However, an LS swap would have killed it! I wish Jonathan would stay true to Toyota. Even on his ICON trucks he could be getting 5.7 iforce crates motors, but for some reason he ruins them with GM garbage...

    My grandpa owns by 30 years BJ42 (first date of registration 1984, and bought in Netherlands from dealer in 1984) :P Lots of memories, lots of photos... but now i bought another BJ42 (1981) and want to rebuild her... such a big amount of work, i dig TLC products.

    This is the kind of stuff that I wish Jonathan would do. Keeping it Toyota where possible (Nothing beats a Toyota engine) I hate the LS swaps, it cheapens the legend of the FJ. However, this is great work, I think the talents of your company should be used on these projects!

    "heat cured polyurea" is a way of saying Line-X without using their trade name. It's the same product, applied over the vehicles finish (paint/powdercoat) exactly the same. In fact, he used to use the Line-X name in his videos before switching to the term,"heat cured polyurea". Like you mentioned though, I've seen tube steps welded shut then fully lined, rust completely through within a couple years. As you said, worse than nothing at all.

    The craftsmanship on these vehicles is amazing, but I sincerely wonder as to who constitutes the clientele base. Those who are well off enough to afford vehicles built to these standards usually go for G-Wagens and cartoonishly overbuilt Wranglers, along with Range Rovers and Defenders built to the same questionable tastes as the Wranglers. I'm rather surprised there are enough wealthy clients out there with the good taste to buy vehicles like this and keep these type of companies in business. In any case, great job keeping trucks like these on the road.

    So, frame of another truck plus an entirely new body is a restoration and counts as restoring his truck to the original owner? Emotions are weird.

  • @georgem579
    @georgem5795 жыл бұрын

    Why do people keep calling these “restorations” simply they are not. A restored vehicle is back to original specs. These are a completely new vehicle. Mind you the originals were good vehicles but they were off road trucks so, loud, noisy, uncomfortable with barely acceptable on-road performance. These are great vehicles but more like hot rods especially if fitted with a v8.
