RESTORATION of Rusty Destroyed Screwdriver

Restoration of an Screwdriver, today we restoring this Screwdriver and totally remaking it by attaching huge Brass ferrule and making a new special Handle designed for unscrewing rusted screws.
It was found by accident in my own Workshop in an old box where once kept various broken and rusty tools. It's condition is very good, despite the cracked handle the metal part and Tip is in excellent condition it is almost not covered with Rust and since it is an old model of a screwdriver the steel here is very good quality.
I have a lot of different hand tools and know perfectly well how screwdriver classic handle looks like, so decided to modify it a bit and make a special Round Handle for works on unscrewing of strongly rusted Screws where it is necessary to apply force and convenience. I chose Wild Apple as a material and processed it in a tricky way by using own Forged wide chisel and my favorite Firm Lathe :) I used 3 power tools to make this handle, you all know that for now I don't have woodworking lathe so using all the tools at hand and improvise. Ferrule is made out of Brass. I ground the shank and blade manually and with power tools, this process need to be done very carefully to not overheat the steel, so periodically it was cooled in water. At the end of work all parts was polished with a paste to a Mirror finish and soaked in Beeswax. As a fixing material I used Epoxy. I am satisfied with this project, outcome is a beautiful screwdriver with massive handle and it's Awesome.

Beautifully done! I especially like the handle :) The only thing I'd change is that I'd cut small furrows lengthwise along the handle (about 3 - 5 mm wide and 2 - 4 mm deep). To improve grip strength.
Genius, your "lathe" is simply genius. Great work on the screwdriver aswell

I very much like the idea of a large, rounded handle. I recently lost the ability to make a fist or hold a regular handle with any real strength. The handle you created for the screwdriver would be a perfect solution. You should manufacture a series of them!

That wood is absolutely gorgeous but after I seen those muscles that's all I could think about 🙈😂 must be from the firm lathe 🤷♀️😉
