Rare Hand Forged Tools Restoration

Ғылым және технология

Seriously this is extremely Rare hand forged tools that I have ever restored so here you see me restoring rusty antique anvil and a hammer which is one part of a set and were used in blacksmithing. It was not easy to restore such ruined things but this is not my first restoration so I tried my best and did really great work with amazing outcome.
This restoration took me too much time and it was not easy to make since I had a ton of other secondary work which consisted in making of many small and complex parts by design which were mostly made by my hands. However the final result really surprised me and to be Honest I didn't expect such rare things will become that perfect but this is my personal opinion and yours I hope to hear in the comments.
All the processes of restoring this relics are below:
Forging:
It is not always possible to have necessary materials for project as well as not easy to make. I took two giant rusted bolts and turned them into long steel strips all the forging i did with my hands.
Grinding:
I used my professional angle Grinder to remove roughness from metal. I also used stainless wire to make surface more smooth.
v. I cleaned tools with Abrasive Compound.
v. For rust removal is nice to use Vinegar with Salt.
v. Hand Sanded the surface to remove roughness.
Handle:
There is a professional method to make a good handle and that is
Choosing a right material such as Elm wood also the most important is to wedge a handle and for this purpose we can use various techniques such as crosswise or straight. Wedging a handle is the best way to increase the Strength, Grip and Toughness of the hammer.
Base:
It is traditionally made out of huge and heavy wooden log. And the purpose of anvil stand (base) is toughness and steadiness to withstand critical loads.
Some of materials used for the base.
v. LOG: I took massive acacia log and sawed off with a chainsaw, then turned into a beautiful and really ancient look piece with an installation socket in the center.
v. SPIKE: This is little metal piece which holds steel strips and do not give the base to collapse. I made them by forging rivets into my homemade forge.
v. COATING: The best protection for wood is coating with Natural tar which penetrates deep into the wood and protects against rot.
