Simply ingenious! You are a master of your craft!

You can tell the original maker of the shortsword was making a lot of those. The scabbard makes a distinct metal sound when you pull it out because the metal fittings rub against the blade, there should only be wood touching the blade. That aside this is the first time ive seen someone who restored a blade so thoroughly, yet preserved all of the original parts, bravo to you sir, you clearly have a talent for this.

Hi, thanks! The blade touches the back of the blade, not the blade of the blade. Therefore, everything is fine. Yes, I always try to preserve the old look as much as possible, I do not like polished blades that are more than a hundred years old - they lose all history and authenticity.

Hello! Thanks for feedback. Also, you're right. True, the shape of the dagger is similar to the shape of the Roman gladius. Because the Roman gladius is the forefather of the Caucasian dagger.

When I saw you pulling of the handle scales my first thoughts weren't is he going to make new ones. It was I wonder how's he going to fix them 😄. The scabbard you made matches the look perfectly. Another old blade gets to keep on living 👏🙂
