A few friendly recommendations; Make yourself sets of punches and chisels from some scrap. It'll make your work quicker and it will look more professional. It is important to use grease and oil when assembling bearings, and installing shafts into bushings. Make use of an anvil more often when forming metal. Cement and sidewalk tiles are ok but look amateur. Try to find someone who will let you use sand blasting equipment. You just need to provide the sand. Never place machined parts directly on metal and hit them, like the piston you worked on. Take your good work to the next level.

Gotta say I cringed every time they beat on bearings with a steel mallet... how would they know right?

I thought, considering the tooling that you had at hand, you did a very fine job in restoring this furrowing machine to its original condition. However, if you don't mind the suggestion...... Tape or plug up all bearing bores before painting. Also, tape the opening to the fuel tank as well. The idea is to keep paint out of areas that it doesn't belong.

​@@user-ul7ry3tm1eWhen he was painting the different parts of the engine, paint was getting into the bearing bores and inner gas tank..... Places where it does not belong. By taping or plugging up those holes -- before the painting -- this can be prevented.

Good work, restoring old tractor, grease on some of those parts/ bolts, keep rust away. Good fabrication on parts broken. Use real cotter pins!

Apparently it is their style to make everything look, “almost” 5 more minutes with the wire wheel, or the grinder. A little time with some sand paper, clean gloves on final assembly, so there is not oily smudges, a little care tightening bolts so the wrench does not scratch the paint. Or is it the style, culture, this is the way to tell buyer, this is repaired old stuff?

That was quite the restoration project. My advise would be to follow the advise others have suggested in their posting. Hitting bearings and shafts just made me cringe. Yes, use non metal hammers! Carbon or hard wood Mallets is the best. That was a lot of work...but an outstanding restoration you all. Keep it up! Thank you for the video!

We will be awarding bonus points to the tig welder for his capability in welding together the dirty aluminum crack without viable ferocity!! You get a shiny “E” for effort!! (Didn’t see him grind the spot to be welded, clean) You, however don’t receive any points for the steel tank. (Too easy) but a very good weld on that steel tank. We’ll give ya an “atta-boy”

Good job, Fixing old machinery is wise usually. The expense of everything is getting ridiculous. It's better to fix things up rather than go into debt. But sometimes you need to buy new especially if production might be at stake . We need to weigh it out. I usually fix things.

Every time I watch one of these " restoration videos," I think commenting about all the things that should have been done that weren't or are done wrong during the video . But then I remember it's an internet video. The video itself will generate far more revenue than the machine in question is worth so with the proceeds from the video they can go out and buy a brand new machine. Under these parameters the videos is fine it does the intended job he makes money . So I don't think I say anything about all the errors .

Hey it's like this y'all done what you able to on it. with what yah had to work with. From the start to finish on that older piece of farming equipment. From years ago back to today. So I say it's A major improvement compared to what it was for sure. Although that cooling container part should've been recasted is all truthfully on it straight up. It's your's though so you fixed it the way you wanted it be. For yourself.,an to fit your needs to use again. And I get that part of it all to as we'll on it all. 👍
