It is a really old shear, from the Ice Age! It was used to shear wooly mammoths and rhinoceroses! :)) Good job, it came out really nicely! Two years ago, i have received a normal sized one as a gift. It was used to shear the sheeps. It was in the attic of an old house, made from unburnt bricks. The tools and the alarm clock weren't used since many decades and are all covered by a thick layer of rust. I want to restore the tools.

I almost believed you'd would have clipped the beard. Then I thought naah! Spot on with the rebuild, by the way. They are sharp...

Before anyone complains about using hard solder to fill the rust pits and holes, that’s been standard procedure restoring steel car bodies for decades. It was also standard procedure for filling seams between steel,car body panels during manufacturing. It works great, does not rust, is essentially invisible even without paint. It could also be used to restore like new appearance to the edged weapons we see worked on here but that would not affect their function while it would hide their history. You found a very common prosaic farmer’s tool to repair this time. Not a sword or dagger, instead something intended to keep life going. This is really why I love your work.

В начале видео подумал - "ножницы, ножны не нужны, не интересно"... А дальше посмотрел, другое дело - ножны есть, всё в порядке! 😉👍 Ремонт отличный, будет чем ногти стричь!😉 И барашка жалко конечно стричь, бороду тоже, а папаха всё равно не будет против. Ножны/чехол получились отличные! 👍 Правда, я думал что ещё петля будет, на пояс вешать, но в принципе и без неё нормально.

Nice work bringing those shears back from the dead! Did you consider doing a leather wrap of the handles themselves? You might have been able to integrate the closing mechanism so that you aren't left with a loose strap that might be easily misplaced. Just a thought. 👍

Это ножницы для стригалей - парикмахеров для овец. Честно говоря, я в недоумении от выбора объекта реставрации, но такое дело. Работа проведена тщательно и профессионально. Я бы ручки просто обмотал бы бельевой верёвкой. А ножны... А надо ли они? В любом случае, работа хороша! Удачи тебе Мастер!

Likely not unless you shear a lot of sheep or merino. Only seen it in videos as everyone uses electric direct drive clipper now. We did a few, but never again. It’s a skill.

There’s a pretty steep learning curve.we never did get it. The direct drive horse clippers worked, though. Never again.

Вот не пойму, нафига было их реставрировать, портя ножовку, которую можно было так же реставрировать и использовать по назначению. Но мне больше нравится вторая часть, ножны ))) кстати, их лучше хранить не сведенными, пружина слабеет.

Ну выкидывать точно я это бы не стал.

Это ножницы для стрижки овец и коз. Двое где-то валяются по сей день. Ибо родители держали скотину ну и я тоже соответсвенно. Теперь только куры 15 штук.Нет уже сил, здоровья. Да и твари все сделали что проще купить чем вырастить
