Hello everyone,
Take a look at this Candy Cigar Restoration project. It's a great example of how to restore and revive a vintage story with old tools and techniques.
As you can see, this project required a lot of restoration work. In this video, I'll show you how I repairedand fully refurbished this candy roller. After the restoration, I of course tested the finished product.
Thanks for watching!
If you're interested in restoration or want to learn more about how to restore old tools then this is the video for you!

@25:12 On the off chance this hasn’t been mentioned yet, there is stabilizing resin (sometimes called cactus juice) that doesn’t require you to sand a whole bunch of resin off. You put the wood in the resin, use the vacuum, and then remove the wood and bake it. Fantastic job once again!

Just watching you restore this simple machine brings back so many countless memories of my childhood going to the candy shop to get my usual flavor of bubble gum candy cigars and possibly try any new flavors that the shop might making. And yes the candy shop i went made all there own candy using all natural & organic ingredients the shop owners were a husband & wife the husband was a organic chemist & his wife was a culinary school trained candy maker. Oh - my - gosh. Like you said, when this was manufactured it was a machine, not a work of art. But you not only got rid of the casting spurs (and no stabbed 😢fingers) you literally made it a work of art and functional! Kudos to you!

Beautiful work, loved the improvements you made in the assembly process. I was fascinated by the aerator in the nickel bath, has it made a lot of improvement to the quality of your plating? What did you use to seal the handle? I'm assuming linseed oil. You are a man of many talents, candy maker added to the list. I wait patiently for the next video. ❤

I am new to your channel - it came across my YT feed as I was looking for other similar restoration videos. I love the unique twist you've added to yours with the Beer Time rating mid-to-end of video. So novel and fun! And now I'm going back through the archive and watching all the rest. :)

This is freakin fantastic!! You are the only channel I have seen that rivals my all time favorite - Chip Channel. You are just as good maybe slightly better, and I don’t say that lightly. No one has ever come close to him in my opinion. This was my first video. It won’t be my last! Glad I found you.
