Small nut first. Less resistance so you can tighten it in further. Then large to jam small nut on. It’s what I was told when I started building boats and it’s how I’ve done it since and none of them have ever fallen off

Is the whole concept to contain engine coolant ? So heat exchange (chamber) is inside body hull keel ? Huh. I'll be dipped! Cool idea.

So "keel cooling" doesn't require a "header tank" and a pressure cap and overflow/recovery tank? Or apparently even COOLANT?

Its been a while, but I think they were about 10-12 feet long and yes they seemed to be about 1-1/4 or 1-1/2 diameter.

The reason i ask is i have a CPL0970 that i have 4' x 8 tubes @ 1.5" diameter and if i run over 2200 rpm my temp will rise. That is what Walter recommeneded for my 6bta. I think 12' would elimitate that problem. I am set up exactly like in this video.

The expansion and overflow tanks are in the cabin under a bench seat at an elevation above the engine and all the plumbing, there was no good spot under the deck.
