I like that the beginning will take place in the early hours of the morning when it's dark, seems they are accentuating more of the horror aspect than the original did. The Ganados also look more sickly denoting their infected state. But I do like they kept the design of the village more or less the same as the original. I have high hopes for the remake.

I appreciate keeping the same actor and continuity from the RE2 remake, but I definitely loved Leon's design the most in 4. He looked a lot like the actor, Mark Singer, who starred in more than a few 80's and 90's sci-fi themed shows and movies. Really fit. Given how many times RE4 has been resold over the years, it's funny to see them jump so soon to remake it, but it's fine. I am sure it will be good.

It is just my opininon, but ps2 graphics had that washed out colors style, you know. Everything was quite "dirty" looking and stuff. For me it is the key scary part apart from Regenerator enemy. I see that they are trying to recreate that color scheme, but so far everything looks more lively. I wonder how it turns out in the end, but perhaps RE4 isn't even going to be scary at all. After all RE4 is already an action oriented game and it was the turning point in the series when horror was reduced to very low levels. So, what I wanted to say is that I feel like they won't be able to keep the "spooky" part on the same level

RE4 will always be the greatest game of all time to me. Absolutely groundbreaking in its release and still so fun today. Going into the remake - I will NOT be expecting the same game. All I want is a good modern day Resident Evil that truly celebrates the original in a great way. I hope we get that.

They'll probably have to find other ways to convey that sense of scale and pacing because the original stuff wouldn't quite fit with this seemingly more horror version of the game, I can't even imagine how the hell will they be able to pull off Salazar without having him look completely out of place. Tho honestly the ending felt a little dragged on to me in the original.

@@ginogatash4030 that makes sense since they need it to remain consistent with their “remake universe” I just really hope they don’t strip all the camp/action away. Part of what makes re4 unique and memorable is the campiness and action setpieces. If they just asset farm Re8 and go for that same tone the game will be ruined

I have very high expectations for this game ever since the RE3 remake with half the game being cut out and not enough of the original features Etc So I really hope capcom learned from its mistakes and Isn’t much as a “Reimagining” of the original.

Part of the huge charm from Re4 was the Autumn setting. The dried yellowish leaves everywhere, and bare branches. Now with the newly added greenery that charm and aesthetic has been destroyed. That's what happens when art director's get involved with remakes I suppose, they start to introduce changes, instead of celebrate the beauty of the original direction.

@@nicknickname353 Re7, Re2Remake and Re3Remake all share some assets, but you barely notice it cause it's small objects and stuff you normaly wouldn't spend a lot of time looking at. This game will definitively share assets with Village cause it's the same setting, but I don't think it will look out of place at all.

I was hoping the remake would be more cloudy like the original. I just love the beginning areas where it's so cloudy and creepy. Maybe it is like that, but we just can't see it clearly. I can't be the only one who feels nostalgic with cloudy weather even in video games. It's especially nice since we don't really get a lot of horror games where the environments look like that

@@AgentSephiroth I know it's not a remaster. I just didn't realize their reimagine of RE4 was dark/night equal scary. We've had that the past two remakes so I was kind of bummed seeing that. Maybe there's an option to turn the skybox cloudy lol, but I'm not really complaining. I know the original is always there bro

Remake looks great but I'm a bit sad that they didn't keep the original's autumn color palette and instead went for a more generic horror blue.

I have not played the original but seen clips and have wanted to play it for over a decade - unfortunately I waited because I was expecting the remake to be as true to the original as resident evil 2 remake, but this just does not look like the game I have been waiting for so long for so I think I’m just gonna play the original. It looks a lot more unique and the new one seems too similar in color and environments to village which don’t get me wrong, I loved, but this doesn’t look like the resident evil I’ve been waiting for 😭

@@rider0fficial29 Even in the screenshots when it's daytime it has a much more cool hue to it. I wasn't even talking about the nighttime scene. Nevertheless, the fact that they changed it to nighttime is an artistic choice so it still plays into what I'm talking about. They ditched the warmer color palette. I never said I'm disappointed in the game as a whole, I'm still excited for it. I just wish they kept truer to the more unique color palette of the original. Relax yourself.

This remake definitely has a lot to live up to. I genuinely hope it's successful, but it won't be easy. Most people consider RE4 to be the best game in the series. How can you improve something that people already see as perfect? People are already going in with the mindset that it won't surpass the original, and there are people who don't even want to give the game a chance. They're going to focus on the remake's flaws rather than let themselves enjoy it. I'm personally going into it with an open mind, though I'm cautiously optimistic. I think this remake has a lot of potential, but my main concern is that they'll cut out iconic levels and segments that were in the original.

In My opinion, Resident evil 4 was so good and realistic that it didnt need a remake not at all. The game was already crtically acclaimed and many fans werr attracted i myself included. This was one remake i was against being made. Now you see they make fun of this new remake with all the memes and modes just like lady demestricue and memes from early remakes. It wiil be very sad it will ruin the charm of our childhood.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the worst games in the series, as someone who has been here since the beginning. It's the reason we ended up with a solid decade of run and gun adventure horror games, instead of puzzle/survival horror games. The only people praising it at the time were the gaming press, who today many will tell you not to trust the opinions of. The game certainly was a spectacle for it's time, but it was also a terrible RE game for it's time, and still remains the start of RE's worst period to this day. The dislike from the fans of the time, myself included, had nothing to do with departure from zombies and a shift in perspective, and everything to do with the removal of anything that required thought, as well as the inclusion of some real silly crap like Salazar.

@@lapis591 You are confusing terms, a Remake is in fact a Reimagination of a title (You can see that they changed some stuff) while a Remaster is the simple improvement of textures (And not the change of a single thing in-game but looks) i.e, they remastered RE4 already when they brought the game to new generations (PC with the Ultimate HD edition in Steam and Consoles PS4 and XBOX One) and that might be why you think it looks "good" but this is a game from GameCube and PS2 it def needs a remake bro... Even Resident 5 would benefit of a small remaster if not a remake aswell these days, they cant and dont compare to recent games no matter the platform, there is mobile games that look 2x better than RE4...

Since this version seems to take on a more serious tone, perhaps we'll be getting a more on hand inventory system. If not, we might see remake re4 leon lugging around a briefcase that gets larger over time lol. Very curious to also see how much more varied the merchants inventory will be as well. Super excited

Fuuuck I hadn't even thought of this. So much of what made the original entertaining was inventory management. It would be very easy for them to mess up a lot of the fundamental game design choices that made RE4 such a staple.

Prefiero que sea como el remake del 1, que dejen el juego igual, cambien algunas cosas y sobre todo agreguen más historia. El Remake del 2 es bueno, pero recortaron uff un buen de contenido y peor el 3 que recortó un chingo XD por el pretexto de ser realistas aún con las fumadas del 8 y 7 jajaja, capcom qlera.

@Dan Young it has tank controls dude. There's no side-step, and you still stay still when aiming. The only difference is that it's now over the shoulder and you actually have to aim. But the controls are the same as fixed camera angles... that's why they're called tank controls.

@@TheDrsalvationthose famous tank controls were the ones that added difficulty to the game, without that they would be a joke for their time... games for real gamers... now they cry even for the basic difficulty... when you take the technique to the tank control no there is nothing to stop you.

Honestly the graphics were part of what made the game, BUT I am still really excited to play the remake. Hopefully its longer than the rest of the new remakes

very very excited to see the remake of re4. it was my favourite game when i was a kid so it would be really nostalgic to play it again with the advanced technology.

This graphics comparison video is well-made, great job! Also providing screenshots of the beta version of RE3.5 was good too. Here's to hoping the gore doesn't get censored. Games from RE5 until RE8 have been lame in that regard, I have a feeling this remake will fuck that up as well.

@@walter4180 RE2 remake's gore is only for the zombies and enemies. Your death scenes there are tamed and boring as hell. RE7 and RE8 barely bothers me in the gore department when it's in first person view. OG RE4 did better than those games with the different gory ways Leon can die, and that game is almost 2 decades old.

Ashley's eye color seems different in the photograph comparison, and she doesn't seem to have a reflection in the water in the foreground. Ada still has her signature red color; but it's nice to see she's actually wearing some tactical gear, rather than the implied arsenal she kept under her original red dress.

Broo... literalmente llevo fantaseando desde 2019 (despues del RE2 Remake) que podia existir una muy poca, pero muy poca, posibilidad, de que hagan un Remake del RE4. Inclusive, me ponia a buscar videos todos los santos dias, de como se veria Leon, el pueblo, los aldeanos, con los graficos actuales. Tambien recuerdo el 2020, cuando "supuestamente" se habia filtrado que el juego estaba en desarrollo, pero que todavia era muy temprano para presentarlo y que llegaria recien en noviembre de 2022. Habia explotado de emocion... Luego, pasaron un par de años y no se sabia nada del remake (hasta ya habia perdido las esperanzas). Y hoy, veo mi celular y me encuentro con la noticia de que Capcom, habia presentado un trailer official de RE4 Remake... man... se me cayeron los huev0s al piso. Ultimamente, mi estado de animo a estado variando de mal en peor (justo ayer me paso algo y me sentia fatal) pero esta noticia me alegro muchisimo. Ahora mismo puedo decir que ya me siento mejor y que recupere mi felicidad. Gracias a esta noticia ya tengo 2 objetivos para el año que viene... conseguir independizarme de mis padres y jugar a este pedaso de juego en mi casa tranquilamente sin que nadie me juzgue. RE4 was lightning in a bottle. I’m looking forward to playing this, but I don’t expect it to surpass the original. I’d bet money that a bunch of stuff is going to be cut out like with Re3.

There is absolutely no way they are going to cut out any of the good parts of RE4. The game is legendary beyond measure and Capcom know that. If they do, then they will prove that they're utterly clueless.

I think they made a good balance of things in re2 remake so I hope they do something similar here. I just hope they have three different acts like the original game and a similar upgrading system.

@@serathaevistille995 I read a quote from one of the devs on RE2 remake that they took away the A and B scenarios because "people will prefer a more focused story" or some nonsense, making it sound like we the consumers somehow were at fault. For every hit Capcom lands, they just keep on with the misses.

Lo que me parece impresionante es que capcom lleva varios años sacando puro remake de sus juegos y está vendiendo tan bien como las nuevas entregas y posiblemente esta nueva edición de RE 4 va vender tan bien como resident evil 8.

@@cksports2448 En teoría debería serlo, pero en el remake del 3 la principal causa de su crítica fue debido a este punto en cuestión, habían recortado muchas cosas lo que lo hacía muy corto. Esperemos que Capcom aprenda de sus errores.

I remember watching my brother play this on our GameCube when we were kids. It's one of my favorite memories.

This game looks insane I love Ashley’s character redesign so nice I feel that there will be a section maybe I hope that you play as Ashley trying to escape the village for the first time that would be cool

I hope they have a non cannon extra game mode where you run through the game as Ashley or something with only weapons she finds along the way like the lanterns she used to throw in the original, but running backwards to the beginning of the game to meet Leon pulling up in the car lol

I love it that they gave Leon his original jacket from the more graphic intensive footage like the Hook Man version, etc. I wonder of they'll play with the idea of having to manage the virus like the original was going to as well. I'm also kinda hoping for that air ship section that was shown off in magazines back in the day, I always thought it looked sick. Can't wait for REmake 4!

imo RE4 is the sweet spot between action and horror , if they do it right this remake's gonna be huge.

Wonderful video, as always. Thank you very much. As for the Remake, I’m stoked! Now all we need is Code Veronica Remake and every Resi mainline story game is available on current platforms. Resi 1&0 sure could get another work over or Remake even but the current versions still hold up imo. As for Resi 5&6, a Remaster would suffice I guess. Fingers crossed that Code Veronica Remake will be released by 2025. :D

I just hope we have costume options like in the RE2 and 3 remakes so I can put ada in her original dress but with updated graphics. I don’t care that it’s impractical and unrealistic, it’s so iconic 😭

Not all the horror games have tough controls though. Re2 remake for example. I don't mind action though either way. Re5 is one of my favorites

From the looks of it, they’ve expanded on the Main village at the start a bit, everything looks a nice distance from each other, I’d say they’ve upscaled everything most likely, they know they can’t fuck this up like the did 3 remake

Como enemigo perseguidor puede funcionar perfectamente... Solo que me preocupa cómo lo programen porque con Mr. X en el 2 sí era hostigante, pero con los demás (Nemesis, Lady D) no te sientes realmente perseguido... Ojala lo hagan similar con Mr. X

Yo creo si lo harán así porque si te fijas Mendez ahora usa sombrero el cual se lo tendremos que tirar disparándole y nos darán un trofeo igual que en el remake de Residente evil 2 con Mr x.

@@umbraeon Ainda assim, não é desculpa pra fazerem com o 4 a mesma merda que fizeram com o 3. Temos o 3 clássico pra jogar, sim, mas aquela "reimaginação" tosca, capada e mal feita eu sinceramente finjo que nem existe. O 4 tem suas falhas e defeitos, sim, e os fãs esperam que sejam corrigidos no remake: o que NÃO significa capar o jogo inteiro igual fizeram com o 3. Óbvio que estamos com o pé atrás. RE4 é considerado o melhor jogo da franquia por muita gente que inclusive começou no mundo de RE por ele. Temos que parar de medir os gostos dos outros com nossa própria régua pq existe quem gosta do jogo e torce pra Capcom não destruí-lo e existem as pessoas que tão cagando pra isso porque não gostam do game, simples.

Tbh, I hope they don't change too much and keep the game similar to the original. I really love the original game and it holds a special place from my childhood.

They would change a lot of things, like RE2 and RE3 remake. Dissapointing.

Over the years I've played through RE4 on Cube, Wii & PC, really looking forward to the remake!

My favorite game of all time. Played it multiple times on ps2 in every difficulty. Played it on oculus too, and it was even better experience. And now I can’t wait to play the remake of it.

Very nice job with the video comparing old to new. Got some good screenshot in close to the same camera angles. I was hoping for Capcom to remake CV first. I’ll play this when it comes out, but I’m not as excited for this like I was with the last two remakes.

Nice comparison video! The remake design looks very similar to Village with darker colours and better contrast, compared to the original which had a brown hue throughout.

Same. RE 3 was OK. Just disappointed because not only is it short. But the game felt rushed to be sold in store. Especially at $60.00 price.

Creo que te apuraste (como muchas veces) antes de hacer una comparación porque no mostró demasiada cosas en el tráiler y cuando salga el juego lo vas a volver a publicar ( como las otras veces)

Not too keen on the overall darker lighting, it removes the details that are supposed to be a major part of the remake

Que recuerdos cuando lo jugaba en la PS2 xd Esperaré ansioso su salida para comprarlo y jugarlo. También espero salga un Revelations 3 en un futuro
