Along with my youtube videos, my friends still post regularly - they give great advice and vivid personal experiences. I think you all would really enjoy it. ellensburgdiningclub.wordpres...

Jenny you seems to be trying to stop your tears. during the whole video..... working with geriatrics and terminal patients is difficult and emotionally draining.... but it only shows how committed and involved you are in your profession....

It sure is.. I have been working in geriatrics and even went further after nursing into geriatrics and love it. But it can be very, very hard, but also very rewarding! :)

Not where you're supposed to be? Girl you bust your butt! You're a doctor and a mom and a wife! That is so much! You're a beautiful caring and intelligent woman and I hope you get out of this funk soon (:

I think you are doing a great job juggling everything Jenny- being a mom, a doctor, and still uploading videos on youTube shows how dedicated you are. We can't all be 100% all the time :)

Wyatt is so adorable. I found geriatrics the hardest of rotations. its important to remember everyone gauges quality of life differently and great planning and communication is very important to gauge that. I've got it coming up next year too!

Hey Jenny! I think what you said at the start of the video hit... really home for me. I think that so often in our medical career, we are always comparing ourselves. Comparing to other students, to our upperclassman, to our seniors and attendings. And sometimes we just feel inadequate. But just like you said, it is truly stepping back and realizing how much you have accomplished, and that you are doing AMAZING things. And I think what's wonderful about being in medicine, is that we never stop learning. So instead of feeling like, "I don't feel like I know enough", change it to "I can't wait to keep learning more!" Positive thinking on this Sunday night~ And happy 3 months for Wyatt

i have been through it a lot.... but only thing that works is to keep pushing.... give yourself a break whenever you feel like but after that don't let yourself down... just keep working....

I have an anxiety disorder and due to its severity and what it limits me from doing, I do take medication. However, I totally agree with you that combination therapy is the most effective. The research certainly says so, and I've been in counseling for 4 years! I'll have to check out that book.. thanks for this! Also your lil beeb is so handsome!! ☺️

I am a brand new NP, and although the training is much different than MD/DO, I am still struggling immensely with my confidence, and feeling out of my element. I know that with time, it will feel more like second nature to the both of us. You are doing great!

I love you for your intro! You don't know how badly I needed that, I've been putting off finishing my secondaries for like a week now, feeling terrible about it, questioning if I even have the willpower to go into medicine... you just snapped me back into reality! Thank you :)

Hi Jenny! I'm a current pre-med student, and I watch your videos all the time. I just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work you do- your videos, information, and encouraging words really, really do make a difference! I just started volunteering at a hospice care center a little while ago, and while rewarding, it's definitely difficult. It's nice to hear your perspective on it all. Best of luck, and know that people are rooting for you! You're an amazing role model, and you can do it :)

Jenny, I hope you get out of that funk soon because you're amazing! You are a wife, mother, and medical resident. Just having one of those things on your plate is a lot of responsibility. Having 2 of those responsibilities would probably make some people crack up. But you have all 3 and somehow find a way to balance it all with grace. I know I don't know your whole life, but from what I see you are an amazing mommy to Wyatt, a great wife to Stan, and an awesome medical resident. I hope you have a great day, Jenny cause you deserve it!

When I was a tennis teacher there were moments when I felt like I wasn't good enough to teach, and it did give me some anxiety. Anyways, more people than you know have had the same feeling.

I am all for using other things than meds for depression and anxiety. Meds are often the "easy" way out. People need to talk, they need to be surrounded by a environment that are good for people, and as you say, giving people tolls. Meds can be great as well, but I think it should be given in combination with everything else :)
