Resetting Handicapped Accessibility

My van has a reset feature. If automatic doors and other features stop working properly you might be able to avoid a trip to the repair shop!

So my fiancees grandparents van was not deploying the ramp. After looking at the wires around the electric motor that runs the ramp without seeing anything disconnected nor any blown fuses I pretty much gave up letting them know I didn't see anything I could fix. Then I decided to do a search in KZread and thank goodness people like you take the time to share an easy fix for those who are having similar issues. The main electrical unit running it wasn't located in the same place as yours as theirs was under the third row passenger seat and looked little bit different but I located the rest button and low and behold... IT WORKS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE VIDEO!!! 💪😎✌️

It saves at least the minimum charge of what people charge to fix these things, about $100! People with ramps don't need extra bills!

Someone commented above, some vans have a controller box under the third row seat on the passenger side. My model is a 2015 Town and country with Braunability Entervan XT side foldout. I found a diagram on manuals which shows the same electronic controller on the 2008-2010 Chrysler minivans. This controller is covered if you're inside the van where the wheelchair would be. And must be accessed from outside by opening up the tailgate and flipping up that passenger side seat to get to that box. To do that, pull the #1 right side strap to release the side of the seat. Then pull the bottom strap to lift that seat and reveal the electronic controller box. There is a key screw on the bottom of it to remove it. There is a reset button labeled and it is the upper blue button on the left side of it. If you are stuck inside the van and just need a quick solution to get out vs. reset fix you can use the manual ramp buttons. Here is how. When inside and facing the 3rd row seats there are 2 dark toggles to the right of that covered box above the footrests. To the right of the box are side by side dark manual toggles controls that raise and lower the ramp (which I could not find last night in the dark when I needed them) to lower the ramp manually. Hope this helps anybody in this situation. I know it would be helpful to have a video but I did not have time to put one together after I put it back together. Maybe I will make one if people need it for the future or someone else can when they do this process.

It was on the side of mine. It wasn’t super visible if you just looked at it quickly. If you cannot find it on the side, you should call the company who did the modification. If you can’t find that out try talking to Toyota.

Can you open up the box the key is in? I would wire out around the lock so it is always on. If you don't have a separate button, you could install one. If your not up to that a place that does electrical work on cars could do it or replace the lock with a new one. You could have a locksmith make a new key. These two options could be expensive. I'd get estimates and compare. I had a key brake off on a wheelchair lift, but it was in the on position. It had a switch to make it go up or down. That is why I'm thinking you could wire out around the lock. I guess you have to take a risk that anyone could work the lift. But if you don't leave the chair once you have arrived somewhere that isn't a big issue.

BraunAbility 2014 Toyota Sienna fold-out lift with an automatic sliding door. Lift stopped working! No power to the sliding lift door! Bye bye independence! The world gets smaller still. They will gladly fix it for $150.00 per hour! Emergency buttons that are supposed to lower and raise the lift and raise the van to driving height did nothing. Everything else in the van works except the lift and sliding door. It's got to be a power issue. Where is the reset button on the lift of a 2014 BraunAbility Toyota Sienna LE?

I don't have one, so I can't tell you. Do you have the instruction books that came with the car? Look around for a panel that might open up to reveal the control center.
