Replicating Mary Blair Cinderella: How to Match & Mix Colour Using Procreate!

Woke up on Saturday morning to 1K subscribers! Wooooop woooop! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has subscribed and hung around to watch these videos. I really enjoy making them and have met some really cool people. I was nervous to start this channel but it's been a wonderful experience. I have something special in the works to celebrate this milestoke LOL that was a spelling mistake but I'm leaving it cause it totally fits! To celebrate this MILESTONE I'm working on something BIG and am super excited!! I'll be sharing in the New Year, so stick around for that :)
Ok, so in this (extra long) video I use one of my favourite pieces of concept art from Disney's (1950) animated classic, Cinderella to demonstrate how Procreate can help you colour match and mix colours with more accuracy. You can use any kind of paint, although I prefer acrylic gouache. And you only need the primary colours, including a cool red (magenta) and a warm blue (cyan) plus black and white.
Here are the materials I use in this video:
Acrylic gouache in the following colours:
Yellow
Red
Primary Magenta
Ultra Marine
Primary Cyan
Black
White
Illustration board
Washi tape
Watercolour brushes in size 4 and 10
water
paper tower
lids for mixing
Procreate (you can also use Photoshop)

Wow, this was amazing! Such a beautiful recreation and so fun to listen to! Also, a great trick with the procreate colour mixer. I really struggle with colour theory and colour mixing so this seems like a great tool to practice with! Thanks for making this awesome video! ❤😊

Whatup, #1 fan girl here just dropping by to say this is just wonderful in so many ways. Thank you again for sharing your color and painting knowledge on such an exquisite piece! This dress, that waistline, those curtains... Incredible how she conveyed such drama with only a few elements and the right color scheme. P.S, I feel so seen by your dedication to me :D and thank you for the deep dive on the colors, it is so helpful! The brushes I recommend are the Princeton Heritage series. I watched some youtube vids comparing brushes and that brand held nearly as much paint as the sables so I went for it and like them a lot. Now what is this milestoke all about??

5⭐️vid..if anything, please slow down your speed of playback. We really do want to see the paint names, watch your strokes and get a good look at your paint consistency, process, etc. We can pick up a lot of nuances and it’s worthwhile no matter the total length of your vid.😊
