Instant sub. Love the no frills no bs review. 52 bucks for a decent light with that capability is just great

Dead spot is from how they tried to fit the IR led chip next to the Led chip in the bulb on the light. They tried to center the led Chip more and pushed the IR chip to the side so that’s why you see a dark spot. The real version is made with a lot better quality so you don’t get this affect

Mine has the same deadspot. It also holds up fine to 5.56 and doesn't flicker under recoil. I have an elbit WP thin filmed 2163 FOM pvs-14 and have found I only need the IR function for inside structures and this does that just fine. Longer distances are for the designator imo. I've got enough rounds on it to say I'd trust my life with it.

But you have to spray paint it with krylon or rustoleum. That how you know you're a real operator.

the deadspot is due to how the visible/IR LEDs are placed next to each other. The deadspot you are seeing is the visible LED - the real surefire gets around this by rotating whatever LED is being used to the very center

Negative. The ding dong attached a can between comparison shots. That’s the source of the shadow.

@@LUXINK I encourage you to put the clone and real light next to each other. The poorly centered/oriented LEDs on the clone produce some pretty clear pattern differences

Additionally these housings are known to be somewhat cheap. The battery door on mine is cracked. Highly suggest getting a PVS14 or a NI Tanto

Modern gen2+ like Photonis 4G+ is way better than this. The tube in the video has a average fom of 1800 FOM. That's not bad and you definitely need nothing more. But you would immediately see the difference when you looking at a Filmless 4G/ECHO+ photonis tube.

As far as i can tell legit Surefire Scout bezels dont fit onto the Chinese copies. The tailcaps are interchangeable as well as mounts. I cant say that its impossible for say, a KM2 or KX2C head, to fit onto ANY Chinese copy because theres probably more than one facility making them so there could be discrepancies. However the M-series copies arent limited in that way. A legit LU60/Z32 combo will fit just fine into a Chinese M951 clone, Malkoff E-to-M adapters fit Chinese MH90 light body clones and therefor all Scout heads (minus duel fuel) can fit onto any Chinese M951/M961 style of weapon light. There are lots of different methods a Surefire can be cobbled together. Just lame that Scout head threads werent used for most, if not all of the Chinese M600 copies. As for M340 and M640, i cant say.

The ir head will fit onto the Amazon NON IR clones bodies. But not the other way around. I’d bet the real surefire heads would also fit. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A surefire is not potted electronics. A makkoff or elzetta is. On a clone the housing is super similar and you could epoxy the electronics on a cone making is somewhat superior. The downside is of course quality standards on the electronic components. I know a ton of LE that have had a surefire “go bad” and many more who have had zero issues. For me one failing ever for that price point is unacceptable. I bought and extra clone as a redundancy that is not NV for 33$ on Amazon overnight shipped. You wouldn't trust that peq clone on your real rifle? It might be worth trying. Passive shooting through the eotech is nice but it's way easier using the laser under NODs.

Big issue with flood is the dead spot is shadowing of your rifle, I sold my Zenitco klesch because of the issue, I'd buy a surefire vampire m952v or v1 b for my personal use, I don't like that at all about flood of the Chinese led knock offs.
