Replacing the starter on a Honda Fit Jazz THE EASY WAY - Here is how!

Welcome to @AutoScholarwithMrB ! Today we have this 2011 Honda Fit, and the starter is noisy. If you hear a noisy starter like this, it is going to fail soon. Honda wants you to remove the intake to install this starter, but there is a way around it! We take it out through the bottom and this saves you so much time. All you need are basic hand tools.

Hi i cant find ANY information anywhere about how to replace the specific STARTER TO BATTERY CABLE for honda fit (2012). Everyone talks about replacing starter or replacing battery terminals but nothing about the battery cable that goes down all the way to the starter. Can you help?

This video is a lifesaver! Why in the world did Honda recommend taking out the intake manifold? (It's in the factory service manual too.) How long did this take you to do?

I can do this in probably an hour or so.
Is the stater for Fit 2011 is the Rotary version? Mine is Honda Fit 2007. Can it work on my car?

I am not sure on that.
My jazz is making a scraping noise when starting . Its worse in the cold , once the engine has been started and warmed up it doesnt do it until the next morning when its sat cold again . In summer its alot less often. Its failed to start once when i didnt drive for a whole day .

@AutoScholarwithMrB one day mine just failed to start until I kept doing it on and off and it did then start. Worried about the flywheel to be honest now .
I followed your video exactly- it was the clearest one, thanks! But now the car won't start at all... (It was still starting before but was making the same noise as yours). I checked the plugs were all reinstalled, but I'm getting nothing, not even turning over. What are the chances i have a bad starter? (Rebuilt Bosch- couldn't find one new.)

Could be bad, you can remove and test at most auto part stores. Sorry you are having trouble!
