100% so grateful for this video. I had no idea why my machine was wrecking everything. I have only used mine maybe 4 times and it's already wrecked. I thought it was me. Ny rollers are wrecked and so are my mats. So now I know I can fix my problem, thanks to you!!! Super appreciative!

Cricut should consider partnering with another vendor, such as Joann, Michaels, or even Best Buy Geek Squad, to perform basic repairs. For my Maker, the roller on the right moved out of place. I was stunned that the machine, which had limited use, would stop functioning. I did buy the Maker 3, but it did not sit right that it was broken. Many bloggers on KZread continuously mentioned that they have all their Cricuts that are still working. So, one day, I opened it up, started the machine, and stared at the rollers. Finally, I saw that the rubber had rolled out of place. I pushed it back into place, and viola! It would accept and pull in a mat. Now that I have two machines, I took the opportunity to use a non-Circut product with my Maker since it is out of warranty-the We R Memory Keepers hot foil quil.

Thank you! I've been googling for months re my rubber rollers breaking down (little shnarfles gumming up the outer edge of the roller bar. Your video has pointed me in the direction to fix it

This seems like a lot of people have this issue. I haven't used my machine that many times and the black rollers have moved out of place. I am out of warranty but I have only used my machine maybe 20 times in over 2 years. Sounds like this should be a recall.

Contact Cricut. They recently replaced mine and it was out of the 1-year warranty. I purchased it in late 2020. Good luck.

Those rollers are a headache. I have been reading about this problems because my machine was having the same issue. So after calling Cricut, they just offered me a discount for a new machine, but my maker was not having any problems beside the rollers that were stretched. So I just bought the rollers through ebay, and replaced them. After that, my machine is working perfectly. The quality of these rollers are terrible and I did a complain to Cricut about it. They forcing us to get a new machine for something that it can be repaired.

Thanks for this video. I have an explorer and until this day it still work perfect. i invested in the maker and had it at least a year, just enough for the warranty to run out and the rubber piece act up. when I seen how much trouble you have to go thru to get to that, I said cricut did that on purpose. either you buy another one or have it repair by a professional which will still cause you extreme money. All that did was deter me from buying the maker 3. I have not seen any one complain about except the cricut maker.... making it known that cricut know they made a defective part. and is not assisting their client in an affordable situation..

That's the Cricut Gimmick to make everyone have to buy another machine. Money money Money for them. Mine just stretched beyond repair and I'm going to give this a try. Thank you for your video.

This is so annoying. I have had this happen. I pushed the white plastic rollers to the sides to prevent to rubber roller from moving. I feel like Cricut should make them easier to replace if they are going to use such poor quality rollers in such an expensive machine.

Hi there can we have the link for the video to replace the rollers

I bought the rollers and disassembled my maker as shown in that video. Still it seems that the bar can't be moved far enough in either direction to remove it from the machine. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

It's a little hard to remove the bar out of its place. You need to keep gently playing and moving the bar until you can slide it out through the right side (in the maker - where you have power buttons).

The same thing happened to my niece and Cricut would not honor anything. That’s why I will never buy cricut. Please let us know where you bought these? I can’t believe you didn’t provide a source.

I have changed the rollers on my machine but now my lights dont come on. The machine works but no lights wondering if you have any advice.

Open it back up and make sure all electrical connections are tight.

I got mine from ebay. They aren't cricut parts and my warrenty is long gone any way. I happened to find 3D printed rollers on ebay, and am about to install them.

Hi Bernard, for some strange reason all traces of my purchase of the rubber rollers have disappeared from my eBay history. I can`t even find the supplier when typing in the item I ordered. All I remember is the pair of hardened plastic rollers were £6 a pair with free delivery. I also remember the listing stated they were produced by means of 3d printing using TPU Plastic [ I think] Anyhow, I`m sorry I am unable to be of any further help but will contact you should I come across the seller. Having this same issue. Cricut Support is asking me to buy a whole new machine to "fix" the problem!

I know why cricut put those cheap rollers on these machines. They were used so they could get you to spend money on a new machine once they messed up. And that's also why they put the screws in a pretty inaccessible place. To make it hard to take apart. Most would give up. That big plastic gear on the one side will end up being a thing that quickly wears out too. These were cheaply made and they are really ripping off their customers with the price they charge for them. For the amount they charge it should have better quality parts. I think if more people saw what they're actually like inside they would probably not buy them. Worst design I've ever seen!!

I’d really like to know HOW this was useful to anyone when all you did was say the issues it had and to buy rubber rollers but NEVER showed how you did it… I could’ve read this in an article. I thought you were going to show the steps to this. So this was useless to me. Waste of 5 mins.
