This is awesome! I bought my machine 2 years ago literally to make Christmas gifts. I made gifts the first year and then that Spring a few shirts. The next Christmas I decided to try the suede material Circut makes (yes I moved the guides out of the way), and that right rubber roller moved every time after that. I contact CS and of course was given the run around. I fixed the rubber roller, but it kept moving and it is REALLY hard to do that. They told me to take a video of the issue and they would get back to me. I never heard anything back and that was around 12/22/20 so at that point I had to do something else. I did like you have and moved my last guide over but I haven't tied the glue! At this point I'll try anything because here it is, once again, time for gifts and having the same issues. THANK YOU! If I screw it up at least I know I tried. haha

I just ran into the same problem. But I was actually looking to find out how to actually move the roller back into place. It was really stuck away and out of place. Your idea of placing a little mail glue to keep the plastic roller in place to hole the rubber roller - gave me the idea to put a little oil around the rubble to move it out of place. And it was tough but it worked. I found another KZreadr who said she found someone who manufactures the rubber replacements. Cricut is great, but they also make hard for replacement parts to get customers to order new machines. Thank you for sharing.

My niece had the same problem and cricut will not fix it. They know it’s a defect and they will not fix it. That’s why I bought a scan and cut. They are still selling these now they’ve got for extra price a three-year warranty on them but it doesn’t help the people that’s already spent the money on these pieces of crap. I’m sorry don’t get me started on cricket.

Thanks so much for posting this. While I didn't end up resorting to trying the glue method, I am relieved (and sad) to know my machine isn't the only one doing this. After so many times of having to push the rollers back into place, one of them is beginning to tear and I'm afraid if it moves over again, I'll destroy it when I attempt to move it back. I've had several Cricut machines, including the original one from way back in 2006 (I think), and none of them ever had this problem. In fact, the old ones still work! Anyway, it happened again yesterday, and I'd finally had enough, so I called Cricut Customer Service. I could tell from talking to the customer service person that I wasn't the first one to call about this issue. I told him I don't want to have to send my machine in and pay for repairs, as I paid a lot for it and I've only had it for 2 years (out of warranty, of course). He was very nice and talked to his supervisor, who agreed to grant an "exception". He said they will send me a "new" (aka previously owned) machine (not new as someone else said). I just have to send a video of the problem and then wait 10-14 days for the replacement machine. I don't even have to send the old one back to them. I am, of course, very happy and relieved that they're giving me a replacement, since if the roller moves again, it's likely I won't be able to use my machine anymore. Note that if you do this, the only caveats are 1) you don't get a color choice, which isn't that really that big of a deal, and 2) as someone else mentioned, once the process is initiated, your current machine will be disabled, and you won't be able to use it anymore. I totally get why they have to do that, but I do wish they'd wait until the new one is receive and set up, rather than disabling the old one immediately. It means I'll have no machine for potentially a couple of weeks or more, which sucks, but oh well, at least I won't have to be afraid every time I use my machine that the roller is going to migrate out of place again, and then my machine might not work right anymore. I'm glad Cricut stepped up and did the right thing by me, but they really should fix this problem on any new machines they manufacture. If not, I'll be very hesitant to ever consider buying another one in the future.

Hi Cyn, I bought my Maker 2nd hand and was told of the rubber washer issue but did get a good deal. I kept an eye on the washer and you can bet your bottom dollar that every time I took my eye off it, that roving washer would move! Such a pain to move back into place. So far haven't ruined anything because I've been quick enough to stop the machine. I have now used superglue, just a minute dab, using your method. However, I did clean the area beforehand with antibac gel! Wanted to make sure there was no debris in the way of the glue. Just waiting for the glue to dry. Nail glue dries almost instantly, so no waiting time but I will give my fix an hour or so before I touch my machine. I must say your washer looks as if it's gone home! My isn't as worn as yours so I'm sure in will work. Thank you so much for sharing. I will update in a month or so. Christine

All I have to say is that i will NEVER buy another Cricut machine EVER again because they know this is an issue and there should be free service for this for the customers

I had this issue as well. For me, the rubber wheel on the right moved because I cut a chipboard and when I tried cutting the next one, the rubber wheel was out of place. The quick fix is to move all of the white star wheels to the right so that the chipboard has enough space to move between the silver metal bar. After you have completed cutting your chipboard, or whichever heavy material you have cut, move the white star wheels back into place (pay attention to where they were before you move them). I got this tip from MLA Studio Designs here on youtube. Hope this helps...

I really need to try this, my cricut maker during last a year with the same issue, time has passed and I never called the company, I just got the cricut joy, thanks for the video, tomorrow I’ll buy some glue.

I did the glue and it helped tremendously. Thank you. I never had a problem until I got standard mats from hobby lobby.

Thank you for this video. It actually works but without the glue.

I used a screwdriver and put the flat blade at the front bottom left corner of the black rubber roller and pushed then put the screwdriver blade at the left rear corner of the black rubber roller and pushed the roller gradually just a few millimeters at a time. I also tapped the up/down arrow on the Cricut in order to move the metal bar some as well. Keep doing this until you force the black rubber into place under the silver/metal roller. I then used a little Gorilla glue on the white tab AND the black rubber.

Mine did this as well, to get my wheel back I had to keep pushing the. Arrow and pushing it at the same time and it went back into place. Hoping this super glue trick works for mine fixing to try!

I was having the same issue. I called Cricut several times and the last time I called they were very helpful and said they would send me a brand new machine. I submitted a video of the issue And they processed the claim and sent a new machine. plus extra vinyl. I guess the competition with other machines is affecting their sales because of this issue on the cricket maker. My machine was two years old. I really wanted to upgrade but couldn’t afford it right now.

okay but how did you move the rubber roller to begin with. I see what you mean about glueing it.., but first how did you move the black roller back into place. It's so hard to move. mine is out of place.

It must be a defect, My right wheel just started popping out of place today as I was quickly trying to make a school shirt for my daughter. I have a maker as well

It's crazy that everyone is having problems with the right side. I had to throw my mat away because it cut up the edges so bad. Going to try gluing mine for the second time.

I am having the exact same issue - I called Cricut but I have no idea how to do a video - so I took pics - haven't heard back from support - they said they would send another machine - I have found over 2 dozen videos on this same issue and that was just a quick search. Cricut has been having this problem ongoing for more than 1 year

Anyone wondering I found another video, someone stuck a flathead screwdriver underneath it and wedged it up a little bit, enough to move the wheel gently. It worked like a charm. So easy.

This is such a crock of sh-t. Many of us have Cricuts that are out of warranty, and are having this issue. For Cricut to just give everyone the run-around tells me everything I need to know about them as a company.

Hi I ended up here because of the same issue, I've moved them back into position and wiped the rubbers as they were rolling in the place. It seems to have worked.

I had to push it with a lot a force and having the long metal rotter move so that the rubber piece go back in place

So many cases maybe this was a recall and we didn't know, seems weird so many cases same issue!

I act like I’m going to insert my mat in & press the arrows (load) button. I use a fork or my cricut tweezers to move it back in place. It will take a few tried pressing the button until you are finally able to get it back in place.

I think this is a design flaw and should be replaced. too many having this issue, right after warranty.

Nail glue or Krazy glue work great

I had to get my husband to forcebly move the wheel. He used screwdriver and some clamps...he would move it a little then turn the power on and off to adjust it. It took a little bit of time and patience. I don't think I could have moved it, it was really stuck.

If you could afford it, try buying a cricut air 2 at 160. I do understand not affording another machine. Im just worried about the black roller, I think its called a pinch roller, it looks pretty worn. Hopefully with it being stable where its supposed to be nothing else happens to it.

What I did was kept turning it on and off and pushing it back into the hole each time the roller was turning. Wasn't easy and it stretched a little bit. It's not coming out now with the little white roller pieces pushed up against it. I haven't had to use any glue yet but I'ma keep doing small paper projects and keep an eye on it to see if I need to add any glue or string to tighten the rubber piece. Idk why it came out I haven't used my machine more the like 10x it should not be doing this but I've had it for well over a year and just got into using it. 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️

I used my vinyl spatula to push it back with a strong left hand, while holding the machine tight with my right hand.

Has anyone tried applying heat to the rubber wheels? If the rubber wheel moves after becoming more flexible, is it possible that the application of heat will re-harden the rubber? I'm gonna try it on my machine and will let you know if it works.

I heated the rubber roller with a hairdryer to soften it and managed to push it back into place much easier.

I ended up buying a replacing rubber wheel. Took the machine apart and changed it out. It was a bit of a pain but the machine is as good as new. The new rubber wheels haven’t moved at all.

The replacement wheels aren’t made by Cricut. They were 3D printed by a guy on eBay.

I have the same and the same problem

Just found my machine, IN STORAGE, with the roller foot over. Can’t even get it back on place.

So I called cricut because I have the same problem and they said will sent you an email with a video on how to fix the problem and sent me the link to your video

It baffles me how Cricut seeing this is a defective issue with the machines wont take care of it (warranty or no warranty). I was literally sent this youtube video from Cricut for me to fix as if I didn't invest money into the machine. Was encouraged to buy a new machine with a promo code they sent me as if that was going to fix the issue. Cricut needs to do better.

No No NO. Do NOT put glue on the metal bar holding the rollers. You do not want to TOUCH that bar as it is oil/greased to work and keep everything working correctly. If you need to touch that bar you should wear latex gloves, and figure out what kind of oil it needs to function properly. Of course you do not want even a small drip of glue on that thing, don't do it people!!
