Seriously, just to change the small rubber rollers you have to disassemble all maker? Why did they make it so hard? Cricut should have some kind of service to fix stuff like that. Yo buy expensive device and you can’t use it if your rollers get worn out. Such a shame. I’m so disappointed. I don’t have any skills to do it myself.

This is definitely the best step-by-step video for how to do this. It took me a bit longer than it should have, but with my hubby and son's help, we got it done. The hardest part is those damn 7 screws that are so hard to get at! And, of course, we kept dropping the c clamps. LOL. But thank you! Very thorough and well presented! We were definitely able to follow every step.

Thanks so much for posting this -- you saved my Cricut from the trash. Took me just under two hours, including looking for suitable tools... I didn't have a small-enough ratchet so I wound up using a 1/4" box wrench to turn a Phillips bit. Man, this machine was not designed to be serviced, especially by somebody with large hands! But I'm back up and running here. Much appreciated!

If you need to fix quickly and don't have time to wait for amazon rollers, OMG THIS WORKS!! Go to any auto parts store, get 5/16 fuel line tubing ($3.50) cut off your bad rollers with scissors, use bad one to measure and cut same size from fuel line. Cut through the middle and wrap around the metal bar where the roller was, pushing load until it wraps around. Mine did not close all the way, but it still worked just fine! I later cut a piece of painters tape to size and wrapped that around also. I also pushed one white plastic roller all the way over against the tubing. It was going to be a temporary fix but is still going strong and since I still have 10" of fuel line left I think I will just leave it 'and replace if it fails.

Thanks for such a detailed video. Stripped it down (challenging) and replaced the rollers then carefully put it back together but I’m noticing a couple of perforated vertical lines through every thing I print and the same corroded roller seems to be wearing down again. 🥴 Don’t know why but I will dismantle it again and give it another go. I was so proud to have tackled it the first time. Here I go again!

  • @theZimvideo

The perforated lines are from the white rings on the bar they can be slid around the bar so the perforations don’t intersect with anything important in your work. Thanks for supporting the channel. Good luck.

Ahhh didn’t think of that! You’re right but when I move them I can see the imprint of where they were so is it possible that the bar is maybe pressing too hard? Which lid the top one or the front one? when I put mine back together the front one would not close the spring was not springing properly to keep it closed but eventurally it started to work. if it's the top one could the top case not be fully put back correctly like the slots in the back that I showed in the video did not get lined up correctly? hope you can figure it out. without seeing it it's impossible for me to know what's happening. The right side of the form urs vs mines is a tad bit different. You unplugged the motor thingy from the right side but didn’t remove it… neither did I… butttt… now the left side where u moved the c clamp form the bar behind the white gear…. (Then u went back to the right side and took that “entire piece off we could have done that earlier “in the video) that the c clamp held back…”😢 it came off in my left side but won’t come off my right side because of the motor🤔. Which I believe is causing my bar to be stuck

This is about to be a long comment but hopefully not lol.l Thank you SO MUCH for explaining it so well OMG!!. BUT the little metal piece that you click off right before removing the rollers OMG GUYS do NOT let that piece fall under . I tried putting it back on at the end and it fell into that little space under the wheel but under the entire cricut and I struggled for a good hour attempting to put it back on due to that. My cricut had this weird goo stuff on a gear I kept touching and it was a mess.l also suggest to buy the kit on amazon with the tools.I went to walmart and attempted to buy the star piece and it didn't come in the bit set I got =( . Overall though this tutorial helped alot and I was able to replace my rollers. OH!!! Life hack! If you can't seem to find the holes to screw the top back on use your phone front camera to see under that hood. It helped me put them in faster while holding that tiny screw lol. Thanks again !!
