At the 3:29 mark when they install the seal ring the proper process is to use an installation tool that can be purchased from a dealer. Using a screwdriver like they are risks damaging the rubber o-ring on the back of the seal creating a leak path. Also when these seals are installed a lubricant, such as isopropyl alcohol, is typically used on the o-ring. When done correctly installing that size of seal ring is easily a 1 man job.

The bearings preload is setted by that small cylinders in the drum, why they don't push against the drum but directly on the inner race of the bearing? In this way the drum is allowed to slide a littel bit on the spline, why? Thank you.

But do not mind if you have a diesel mechanic with at least 90% experience, an expert in the reconstruction of gearboxes, diffusers, gear sets, engines of diesel equipment, bulldozers, loaders, excavators and other diesel equipment .
