    To remove flywheel, position a punch on center of shaft, after removing flywheel nut. Strike punch with hammer, the shock will loosen flywheel. Remove by hand.

    Light coat of RTV in the seal channels of the case both side needed as well. Hence casing seal and bearing channels are part of the molding, not a milled process to make sure they are perfectly round, so the light coat of RTV is needed in the seal case channels so the outside of the seals get fully seal to the case channels as well.

    The flywheel pops right off with a slight pry to the backside while tapping the loosened flywheel nut. Don't drill Hiles into it!!!! It is precisely balanced.

    just screw the flywheel nut on the shift a few turns and hit the nut with a small hammer, sharply, and the flywheel will usually come off the shift. if not try a BFH.

    I had a customer that replaced hes own crank case and piston rings but engine fires but wont run unless I'm holding the throttle in and cuts out even when the throttle adjustment is on full, I did a compression test only showing just over 25 carb has been cleaned this one has got me

  • @neddy1287

    @neddy1287

    Жыл бұрын

    Well the compression should be well over 125 psi but you mentioned 25psi usually means there's air leak somewhere on the engine. Or worse case the cylinder head, piston and rings are shot. To get compression to come back you would have to clean the bore with two stroke oil and a lint free cloth, clean the piston ring gaps for crud buildup and clean the rings as it needs to be moving. I have heard of sticky rings stuck to the piston resulting extremely low compression or holding the pull cord letting the chainsaw free falling on it own as signs of dropping too quick is lack of compression. That all I can think of due to my brother asking me 101 questions of why it not working for him

    Just run the flywheel nut down until it is flush with the top of the crankshaft and hit the end of the nut with a brass or hard plastic hammer while putting upward pressure on the flywheel. I use small pry bars to to that and the flywheel, after a few raps, will pop loose. They do make flywheel pullers but they are specific to each model of saw. I just do the rap method. With the nut screwed on to protect the threads on the. Rankshaft.

    Please don’t go through this type of flywheel removal technique. Just put the nut back on the shaft so that it can be hit upon without hitting the threaded end of the shaft. Get a brass drift punch to hit the nut with. Place a wide blade screw driver or similar under the flywheel at a magnet location and against the main body at the top of flywheel. Apply slight leverage and wack the nut using the brass drift with a hammer. It will come off!

    You really had to get into that thing to replace those. Think they should be made of some special material instead of just any type of plastic or rubber like I have seen on different brands.

  • @jdailey19811

    @jdailey19811

    Phillip Kramer this is typical of the homeowner series of saws. The pro series has easy access to the top end bolts on top and can easily replace the top half an about 2 hours, if you know what you are doing. The homeowner series engines can be fixed, as proven here, but takes more time to get into everything. If you have the know how, you can take a homeowner model and replace things and they will last a lifetime, if you use them for what they are intended for.

    atleast it could be fixed for 10$.. a 4stroke will cost alot more when you get into oil seals and pumps and valves and rockers ect 2stroke small engines are the way to go if youre gonna fix them yourself.. if youre paying someone to fix them go 4stroke as 2 strokes typically have an issue yearly where 4 strokes can be quite reliable
